In choosing a new camera, one of my main concerns after being unsuccessful previously is having a screen that is clear and of high resolution. In comparing specifications of several cameras, both new cameras and with that of my old camera, I can't see what difference there is between screen quality, even though I am aware (through looking at the cameras in person) that some cameras are of a higher screen resolution to my old camera. If it is not the number of dots/pixels (on average 460000),...
Greetings to all, I have a FZ60 which I use when birding. One very irritating feature of FZ60 is that spot focus is lost when camera goes to sleep (10 minutes max.). Does the FZ70 retain spot focus when "awakened"? I have looked at on-line manual for the FZ70 but would like FZ70 owners comments. Thanks! Dave
Ideally, I'd find a great megazoom camera that can perform double-duty as video and still capture. According to my research, the newly obsolete model (FZ60) has a built-in jack for optional external audio, even though many sites don't recognize this. The FZ70 touts the capability of the zoom mic, but there are many circumstances where a lapel mic or a PZM is desired, maybe even plugging directly into house audio. Was this option removed from the new camera, for sure? I'd hate to buy the...
I just received an FZ60 from Amazon. When I opened the box, it looked disheveled - like the contents had been removed and replaced. The "protective cover" on the camera was loose and the lens was exposed. The camera looks okay but the strap looks like it had been used. The cardboard divider was all bent and one corner of the box itself was crushed (small area). Does Panasonic include a warranty card? I assumed not since it was not included in the content list. I don't want to return the...
my 1st post here. i just recently purchased the FZ60 to replace my canon with no zoom. i wanted to get something affordable that was good at video and photos. i didnt want to keep carrying two devices everywhere and this model was rated highly on consumer reports. i was torn between staying small with the ZS20 or ZS25 for more money or a bigger model for less. so i got the FZ60 knowing i could return it but i am starting to think i miss the compact size of the point and shoot. i am a basic...
I recently bought an FZ60 and took it on a trip to Alaska. I set the aspect ratio to 16:9 and assumed that this would be in effect until I changed it. After loading all the pictures on my computer I noticed that some pictures were 16:9 and some were 4:3. I don't know how this happened since I never explicitly changed aspect ratio after initially setting it to 16:9. I shot in several modes, but have no idea which mode I was using for which picture. Most of the time I was using IE mode, but...
About different types of camera, we have compact camera (bad IQ), high level compact camera (like Canon S110 or Sony RX100), bridge camera (also called superzoom, like Panasonic FZ62), bridge camera, hybrid camera, and DSLR. Now, it's not clear for me if brigde camera, superzooms, and hybrids ones, are the same kind of models? And the 3/4 sensor camera? the "mirrorless"? Actually i have a little confusion about the different kind of models of camera on the market. Can you give a little...
So...I wanted to upgrade from a P&S after a couple of years but I didn't have a budget in which I could buy a DSLR body and then go on to buy lenses etc. and then decided on buying a superzoom but am torn between 2 of them (Budget is around $350 max, not a penny more and i'm also not interested in refurbished/used cameras)So which Superzoom (Fujifilm HS30EXR / Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ60 ) would offer me better IQ, IS and AF speed. I will be mostly shooting - BIF- Wildlife- Macros ( I tend to...
My old FZ50 is a little bit outdated and Im thinking to find a replacement. I know the IQ of Panasonic but the long range zoom of the Nikon is very interesting. My question is if Nikon lens are as good as Leica lens in the Panasonic. Also is very important the low light capabilities of the camera. I know that f:2.8 of the FZ200 is vewry interesting too but the price is higher. Somebody has experience with both cameras? Thank you
