In the past I have used Panasonic FZ18, FZ60 and now FZ200 for rather casual birding here in Ohio.  Mostly song birds.  The FZ200 has done well for a tiny sensor camera.  Fast  2.8 lens and 600mm is nice.  I wonder what m4/3 lens (most important) and body (either oly or pana is OK) would be required to give me a somewhat improved image.  M4/3 with bigger sensor should give me much less noise and fewer blown highlights. The problem is I would like to stay around $500 total for lens and body. ...

I'm looking at buying myself either a a6400 or a6500, and I'm torn as to which one I should get (this is as a major upgrade vs a very old bridge camera I currently have, panasonic fz18 which has IBIS I believe). I've done some searching on this forum and videos, and I'm looking for personal experiences. If all of the lenses I'm looking at have OSS, would I get much benefit from the IBIS on the a6500?  I'm looking at using the camera handheld as much as possible for general landscapes,...

Hi All:  Please forgive what might be a stupid question.  I bought one of the early Panasonic travel zoom digitals, the 8 MP 18x zoom DMC-FZ18 back around 2007 and have been using it ever since.  It has served me well, although I find that even iphone pictures seem to have a greater richness of color than the FZ18, which brings me to my question.  If I purchase a more recent model, for instance the FZ80, 18 MP, 60x zoom, will I see a substantial difference in the quality of my photos, ease of...

Having a problem with SD card in my HP printer - gives me a 'card read error' message. Also - bought a USB 2.0 and when plug in - nothing. Any suggestions? Panasonic DMC- FZ18 ( my son owned it and had no problems).

Hi Everyone, I would like to buy an additional lens to my Panasonic Lumix FZ18. As the camera is not the greatest either, I don't want to invest too much. It would be used for taking photos of a newborn baby, so I have looked up the topic and a good recommendation seems to be a 50mm 1.8 lens.   Could you please tell me which brands of lenses are compatible with my camera? (found great deals on Canon but not sure if it can be attached to the camera at all - or if there is some kind of adapter...

Hey guys,I currently have a Panasonic FZ72 (which I've only had since April) but I'm feeling a bit limited by it. I wouldn't want to be without it but I'd quite like something in addition to it - which leads me to the GF6.I've done a fair bit of reading up about it but I'm still pretty new to the world of lenses and aperture!I'd like to know whether you think it's a good step up. I've always been put off DSLRs by the size/weight/cost and I don't think I'd end up using one much so the GF6...

I have just bought this camera and I made a nasty mistake when removing one of the wide angle lens that was attached and I accidently pulled of and snapped the part as seen in the photos, This part was connected to the original front lens at the very front of the camera as was held in with three little clips/pins, I dont know the name of this part and I can only find filters that look the same but I need this one as seen above with the clips and no filter/glass so that I can add on additional...

I got the FZ18 back in 2008, and have finally been able to upgrade this year. I'm very excited to have a Fuji X100s, and this is the camera that I'll be using for the bulk of my shooting - social scenes, environmental portraits, street, night and events. I have enough cash to get, for example, a Canon T5i+18-135mm lens, but the more I look at it, the more I'm thinking that the X100s will get quite a bit more time, and I should maybe look for a cheaper option with the other camera that I can...

I have had the FZ18 since September 2007.  Three years ago  I bought a FZ45 from Ebay and found the  quality of  photo (in very bright conditions) was the same as the FZ18 so I sold the FZ45.  I think the FZ200 has the same sensor  as the FZ45  but has fewer magapixels.   I am not very well up in the technical details and wondered if the FZ200 (with its slightly larger sensor than the FZ18)  will be a lot better.

I've got what I feel is a fairly simple question.  Surprisingly, I haven't been able to find the answer yet either in these forums or with a web search.  I've become familiar with Panasonic superzoom/bridge cameras, having first owned an FZ18 and currently a FZ35.  I'm exploring the possibility of upgrading again, either to the FZ200 or to its successor (possibly due out this week?). My question pertains to sacrificing resolution to gain extra (or "extended") optical zoom, which is most often...
