Hello! I'm finding myself really enjoying my 75mm, but I'm going to be honest the enjoyment is not coming from the focus speed side of things... on my GH5 I find it misses focus more often than I'm used to even in decent light (maybe 10% of shots?), and racks focus probably the same amount. When it does hit, it's (roughly) half as fast as my next slowest lens (the 100-300 v2). I use single-point focus exclusively. I love the "character" of this lens (if that's even a thing) and will keep...
Hello everybody! First of all sorry for my english. Ive bought OM-D EM10 II. My daughter will go to photografy cources. She wants to make photos for her friends, for parties and so on. I have kit lense 14-42, 25mm 1.8, will buy 45mm 1.8. If she will make photos as a job what lens do you recomed to buy else (only 1) - 12-40mm f2.8 or 75mm f1.8 - they cost aprox the same price. Thank you!

I recently bought a second hand 75/1.8 and have noticed in some shots double images. For example this crop from the top of the frame: Out of focus tree branch with Olympus 75/1.8 - faulty lens? f/1.8 Is this normal for this lens? Or is it indicative of a problem with my copy? Thanks - Richard

This is a question for all of you who have been to Afghanistan (tongue-in-cheek) or who have been to similar places where the weather is harsh and the shooting conditions may be less than ideal. What gear would you suggest I bring? You can see my gearlist; basically I have a D800 with the usual zooms, and a couple of Olympus bodies with the two PRO zooms plus some primes. I'll be shooting lots of landscapes, and also children (visiting orphanages) both in Kabul and in the provinces. I have a...
How do i make the back dial stop making exposure compensation? I often press the back dial by mistake when rotating it, and simply want it to only change aperture and never exposure comp. whether i press it or not. Right now when i press the back dial, it always goes into exposure comp., and if i set it to have it be exposure comp. itself then it shows two different ways of setting exposure comp! Another thing is how to make the monitor show the current aperture of the lens, so i can see the...
Hello everyone, Although I've been reading DPReview's forums for a while, this is my first post on this site. I bought an Olympus omd-em10 with a zuiko 25 1.8 lens. Great combo, no problem at all. Then I decided to buy the 75 1.8; it's fantastic, but I've noticed 2 weird things. First, in manual focus (not that it's very useful, but anyway), it takes ages to go from infinity to the closest focus distance (and vice versa). I haven't done any precise measure, but I'd say I need to apply a...

I'm considering buying a 35mm equiv. fast prime for my m43 bodies. My plan is to shoot weddings with 35mm, 85mm and 150mm primes on three bodies - 2x GX7 and E-PL5. Most times I may be using only two bodies with 35 and 85mm. My current prime setup is 12mm f2, 25mm f1.4 and 45mm f1.8 (now is 42.5mm f1.2). I'm seeing three options: 1. m.Zuiko 17mm f1.8 - appears to be tremendously mediocre in terms of sharpness except in the absolute center 2. PL 15mm f1.7 - looks sharper, but I really would...
Good afternoon all, Having got into Mft through a secondhand EP-3 to complement my wonderful E5, I fell in love with the primes. I have the Oly 45mm f1.8, a little marvel, and the 75mm F1.8, an amazing piece of kit, complete with the Pana 14 F2.5! I have now taken the plunge and just bought an E-M1 c/w 12-40mm. I am still learning, but this camera is already delighting me, and confusing me, and giving me plenty to learn! :-) My question: I am really taken with the idea of supplementing...
