I recently got a used Olympus 25mm f/1.8 and the autofocus is making a grinding beep noise when I try to focus on a challenging subject like a blank white wall indoors. Is it a problem or is it normal for that to happen? The camera also takes a long time to turn on. None of these problems happen on my 40-150mm R lens, it has very silent AF and takes little time to turn on sometimes, so I know it isn't my e-m1 mark II. It also doesn't happen in video mode. The autofocus still focuses quickly...

Hi there, I'm a big fan of my Olympus E-PL7 MFT camera, which I use with an Olympus 24 mm 1:1.8 and 45 mm 1:1.8 and am delighted with the pictures I can take. As I am going to work more from home, I want to use the camera and lenses for online teaching and web conferences. However, the E-PL7 does not support live HDMI out. Therefore, I am looking for a reasonable and not too expensive successor for my E-PL7. The body should make at least as good pictures when shooting. But I also would like...

Hi everyone, hopefully this is th right place for my question? I was wondering if someone could help clarify whether or not there is a mark showing up in a photo I took? I recently bought a used Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II along with their 25mm lens, both in good condition. I did a quick inspection on both just to make sure everything was ok and noticed there was some dust and hairs/fiber in the lens itself. Took some test shots just to make sure everything was ok but noticed what looks like a...

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum, and this is my first post. I recently bought an Olympus PEN F with a M.ZUIKO 25MM F1.8. Love the camera (despite the almost dizzying array of settings) and the photos I'm getting with the lens. Being a novice, I do not have a good appreciation of differences in lens quality. Is it worth trading up to the M.ZUIKO ED 25MM F1.2 PRO? Would I notice a difference? I'm sticking with 25mm for the foreseeable future because the photos remind me fondly of the shots...

Hi folks, soon I will buy the GH5 as my first semi-expensive camera and now I’m looking for a good prime lens setup. My budget is around 700 Euro for the lenses, I could go up one oder two hundred if I think its worth it. Mostly I’m going to use it for filming short films but I’m also gonna be looking into travel videos and some vlogging. Ive already decided against the 12-35mm zoom by Panasonic, convince me otherwise if you think its the better decision. I´m struggling to find the right...

Hi all,Need some help deciding which lens to add to my kit. I shoot with the Oly OMD EM5 Mark II. I shoot mostly landscape, night, travel and some city. I do not shoot portraits, wildlife, macro. I have been mostly considering the Oly 7-14mm f2.8 Pro or the Oly 40-150mm f.28 Pro. My current kit includes: Rokinon 12mm f2.0 (mostly night shots) Pany 14mm f2.5 (low profile shooting) Oly 12-40mm f2.8 Pro (my go-to) Oly 25mm f1.8 (street shooting) Oly 40-150mm f4-5.6 (budget add-on) As mentioned...

I'll be visiting south America between January-March and decided to buy the Olympus E-M10 Mk 3 for the trip. I bought it as a deal with two lenses - Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II R LensOlympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/4-5.6 R Lens I'm not sure that these are the lenses I want to take with me to the trip (they were part of the deal). I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have concerning lenses that are suitable for shooting people, streets, landscapes and more. I'm...

I'm an amateur with an Oly E-PL8, and I have the kit 14-42mm ii r and the Oly 25mm 1.8. Just starting out with the MFT system. I love the bokeh and fov of the 25mm for more intimate shots, but I'm looking for a wide angle lens that is good in low light and for candid moments with friends and indoors, in restaurants, etc (which is why I'm looking for something with a lower aperture than the 3.5 on the kit). Would the Oly 17mm 1.8 be too close to the 25mm? I've been looking at the PL15mm (but...

I'm actually quite happy with this camera overall, especially with the M.Zuiko 25mm f1.8 on it, but we have active kids and the AF is just not cutting it. I wind up using AF-S, because the focus lock is so unreliable that AF-C usually means it will use a bad lock for the whole sequence -- refocusing on every shot gives better odds that it will get a good lock for at least one of them. Since this is an older, entry-level camera, I assume that its AF performance is pretty far down the scale,...

Today I bought a used Olympus M. Zuiko Digital 25mm f/1.8 to use with my Panasonic Lumix GX80. I tried it inside at home in low light (dimmed lighting) and noticed horizontal dark lines moving along the EVF (from the bottom to the top). Those lights were also visible in all my photographs. I compared with my kit lense (Panasonic G Vario 12-32/3,5-5,6 O.I.S) and on that one I never saw any lines.I played around with the settings to get rid of the lines. Only after I disabled Silent Mode I...
