Hi, recently,  in order to downsize for health troubles my gear, I moved from canon aps-c/FF dsrls to nikon v2 (mainly for 70-300 cx and 30-110 with extension tube for macro). I found the change not too bad, actually in good light very good. I have to admit that I have a far lower success rate in taking shots of birds in flight, as compared to 80D+100-400 mk II, however I love the dimension and the camera and lenses! I am writing here to know if people that tried both v2 and v3 found the...

Just trying to clarify that WR-R10 and WR-T10 transmitters DO NOT WORK with Nikon 1 series cameras. Nikon only specifies DSLR's later than D4 as being compatible. Is this correct ? Is there another way to trigger Nikon 1 cameras wirelessly ? Does IR transmitter work from any/all directions other than front ? --_______________________________________________________________________"Don't get me wrong,I like "Zebras" as long as the walk in front of my lensjust not through my viewfinder."

Hi folks, So I got myself a NIKKOR 32mm f/1.2 lens because it was on blowout sale from a reputable store in my country: 50% off.Loving doing low-light shooting and nighttime photography, I thought that's the lens of my choice, even though having it on my J1 might be somewhat overkill for now, till I upgrade to a J5 or V3. Now it looks like that either the lens has a fault or my question is, if there would be even a compatibility issue with a J1 camera? However I upgraded indeed to the newest...

Does firmware v3.0 update solve the star-eater problem? I updated but haven't had a chance to test it yet.

Apparently qDslrDashboard V3.5.3 is now available for iOS and Android but does it work? Is it possible to get the latest qDSLR to control a Nikon D610 via a USB cable and a Ipad/Ipod without any fancy (meaning expensive) connectors or dongles. The plan is to use qDSLR (or any other cheap app) to finely adjust focus for photo Stacking. --Mark

HiAll, I have just updated my OM-D E-M5 II to firmware v3.0 as recommended and I thought I would check for lens firmware updates also. The 12-40 f2.8 pro updated to v1.3 quite happily, but when I mounted my 14-150 f4 - 5.6, it doesn't seem to recognise the lens, although it tells me firmware v1.0. Attached screenshots show the difference. This is what I see with my other lenses This is with the 14-150 lens mounted - the updater does not seem to recognise it. Is this normal, or do I have...

Hi all, Bought my J5 a while back and looking for a reasonably priced V3. Despite occasionally getting slightly sub-par IQ and some of Nikon's design decisions making me want to bang my head against the wall - I love my Nikon 1. Now it very much occupies a 'right tool for the job' position for me. It's super small and light, and it looks enough like a £50 point and click special to get it past the meatheads at gigs \ events with their 'no professional cameras' policies :) as well as sneaking...

Hello, I have recently upgraded from Canon EOS-M to EOS-M5 and from DPP v3.x to v4.5 (as I believe was necessary to handle RAW files from the newer camera. DPP is sooooooo slow on my PC. It was never spritely, but this new version is unusable for me. I can cope with slow RAW-to-JPEG times because that is a batch process that I can leave running overnight. What makes it unusable is waiting 45-60 seconds for the picture to refresh after adjusting most of the sliders such as noise reduction. The...

I was photographing some bison last Friday and got a little close for one of them (using 70-300mm lens), his sudden movement startled me and I jumped up on SUV. My next look in viewfinder is an overlay horizon level that is round looking and is driving me crazy! I've gone through manual twice and find nothing. Does anyone know how to remove this if not needed? Attached is photo taken just before incident.

I am thinking to use two off-camera flashes to take group photos. I did some experiments today but got inconsistent results. Some images were 3 stops over exposed. Maybe I missed some settings? The following is the setup. Camera: Sony A7RII with FW V3.3 Flashes: Sony F60M and F43M Trigger and receivers: Phottix Odin Light modifiers: Gary Fong Lightspheres pointing up The flash setting on A7RII is fill flash. Face detection is on and so the exposure is supposed to be on the face. Both Phottix...
