I just received a new A6500 with Sigma 30mm f/1,4 and Sony 55-210mm. I first tried mounting the Sigma and found that rotating it into position was relatively difficult, it seemed very tight. I DID get it to click in, eventually, and the camera recognized the lens, but something didn't seem quite right as I had no such experience mounting lenses on my Nikon V1, Olympus OM-D E-5 or Lumix GX85.  I thought maybe it was the fact the lens was a Sigma, but I tried mounting the Sony 55-210mm and it...

Which would you prefer: the Sony 70-400G V1 or the Tamron 150-600mm on the A7ii? Which will have a better AF speed/accuracy, using the LAEA3? And which will be sharper? Weight and aperture are an advantage for the Sony, while the Tamron has extra reach. Thanks, Ray

Hi I have a Panasonic G6 body, my rec camera, and an Oly EM10, my at work camera. My normal lens for the G6 is the V1 14-140 which I find to be extremely useful and it is a good fit for the G6 body. The EM10 has a Pana 12-60 which has been quite functional. The 14-140 is a bit of a handful on the EM10, even with the half case attached. As well I have a Pan 20/1.7 and 42.5/1.7 which move from body to body as needed. Ok, one of the things I notice is that I have not seen any sign of shutter...

I have bought a new k5iis recently, probably the last in the uk. It has firmware v1.00, and the latest is v1.07. I saw some comments on forums complaining about 1.07 wrt video and some other minor things.  If you have a k5iis are you happy with 1.07? I know this is a bit of a retro question as k5iis is old, but I dont want to regret an upgrade as there's no way back. Thanks for your time. I have 16-85 and 50-200 lenses.

Not sure if this is a setting thing or a minor fault on my V1. Collapsing the lens on my J2 powers off the camera, but it doesn't with my V1. I can't find anything in the menus relating to this, so am I missing something, or is this a minor fault with my V1 body? --How the heck did I end up with this username? :-)

I need to organize my video clips. I have countless numbers of clips going back 10 or so years on my drives. Some of my clips were of specific events or vacations, and I have been good about editing these into a final video. However, the majority of my clips are just random things I thought would be interesting to film. Stuff that I figured might be handy for a project someday. Well, now I have so many of these random clips that I wouldn't know how to find anything without manually going...

Hi - My Nikon V1 died and I'm wondering if it's worth repairing, or if I should replace it (and with what). I like the camera, especially fast AF--which is crucial for me. But the fail was pretty major--possibly the sensor--and I'm not sure it's worth sinking more money into the camera. I like the V1, but it has limitations. I've been wondering whether to upgrade to a V3 or switch to a different system. Now it's decision time. I have only the 2 kit lenses and haven't invested in more because...

I'm thinking of divesting of my Nikon 1 gear, selling my D600, and buying a D750. Right now I'm doing the Japanese New Year's Holiday 正月休み and for the first time in a while I did not bring my V1 out to the Toyama countryside but the D600. Stripped down to the bare body and the AF Nikkor 35/2D, I came to the conclusion that it is a superior point-and-shoot to the V1. Sure, it's bigger, but by what I consider to be the most important measure of a camera in such a situation, i.e. "gets the job...

For people who own a J5, do you find its screen is better or worse than other N1 cameras? The J5 I've used seems to be worse. The motion it displays is stuttery compared to the J2 and V1. Except, oddly, in movie and motion snapshot modes. I've tried to confirm if this is a problem with all J5s or just the one I've used, but I couldn't find any 60fps youtube videos that show the J5 in use. One of the reasons I am a fan of Nikon 1, and did not stick with a competing mirrorless system, was the...

Looking at the possibility of getting a V1 + FT-1 to use with some of my existing Nikon lenses but I am unsure of the AF limitations. I understand that, at least in the past, using the FT-1 limited AF to the single centre AF-point but that a firmware update (1.20 ?) addressed using AF-C. However I don't know if the single AF-point issue was also resolved with this update or whether it has been resolved since. Would be grateful for a heads-up please....
