Remember the folks clamoring for a true D700 replacement?  Yep, that and more.

After my initial review of the D850 which I wrote about earlier ( DPReview , 1st article , 2nd article , 3rd article ) I received some questions about how it compares against the D500 and D4S. Many D850 reviews have started to emerge, like on DXOMark and a whole bunch of other websites, sometimes with more or less (semi) scientific measurements. I took the challenge and had a closer look at overall IQ, resolution, dynamic range, noise and recovery of shadows from a lot of boring test shots. ...

Love this camera, does everything just right.. IQ is excellent, dynamic range is amazing. The only negative is the Video auto focus.

I wrote a blog on my experience since upgrading from my beloved Nikon D800E that I have had since 2012 to the new Nikon D850. You can find the review here: https://business.yocale.com/nikon-d850-vs-nikon-d800e-d800-review-5-reasons-why-i-upgraded/ Although this blog is not a full review but it discusses the reasons that the upgrade was worthwhile for me. In addition I found some nuances that ruined few pictures for me in the couple of events that I took the camera to for the first time and ...

Best camera I had in 30 years AF-technique. Not perfect and I still need my D500 too! The monitor should be fully moveable and the Live-View AF must get faster. It's all about lenses - I had Canon for 20 years with all great lenses (1.2/50, 1.2/85, 2.0/135, 2.8/300, 2.8/400, 5.6/800) so switching was not easy. I use and prefer this lenses: 2,8/14-24 mm 3.5-4.5/24-85 mm  - (2.8/24-70 mm are too long and not as good as Canon) 5.6/28-300 mm 2.8/70-200 mm FL 4.0/70-200 mm 5.6/200-500 mm 1.8/50 mm ...

Why is 850 with four and a half stars, and 810 with five full stars!

I have always been a big fan of DP Review and read it daily.  It's been a solid reference point for many aspects of photography.  This past December, I was surprised and disappointed to read a review only to find out that the reviewer had not even handled the camera or tried it.  I'm sure he was correct in singing the praises of the Nikon 850,  but your site has lost credibility because of this.  A camera is only a tool and there are so many exceptional cameras available these days.  ...

I owned this camera for 45 days before shipping it back for repairs. The first 5000 frames were really good, then the electrical issues began. The front control panel goes blank and no data appears while the camera is on. All data is missing looking through the view finder. The only way to switch modes is through live mode. If the front control panel becomes active, randomly speaking, then incorrect data is displayed. I had the camera showing both memory cards inserted when they were clearly ...

There's been a bit of building discontent since the D850 launched. The pre-order lists are long, very long. Lloyd Chambers chimed in with a duff shout for a recall, Nikon sent out 99 different messages on recommended lenses and all of this has a tendency to switch some people off. Here's my experience with the actual camera so far in one word: DAZZLING . I mainly shoot landscape and to many people the D810 does the job well enough, I certainly thought so, but the D850 really does it a boat ...

Thanks to Nikon D850, which I revived my bloody box two weeks ago (a long waiting period like you guys ><). Over the last weekends shots with my family and friends, I would say it is an amazing beast comparing to my D800E (still love it). I think I don't need to repeat all the features and specs here as you can find in DPREVIEW everywhere.:-D  BTW, congrats to the new king D850, you deserved it. Besides the photos shared below, all I want to mention are: 1. the body suit my hands very well ...
