I recently purchased a d780 today.It seems like  great camera but the flash is not working in TTL.it works when i have a trigger in the hot shoe no problem but once i put the flash in the hot shoe it is not firing correctly.either the exposure is way under or way over exposed.I am using a flashpoint flash.Please help

I purchased the D780 as soon as it came out.  My first Nikon was the D5100, then the D7200.  I had considered the Z6, but I have a lot of Tamron glass and much of it was not compatibable even with the FTZ (only manual).  I decided to wait for the next DX camera, and the D780 came out days after that decision. I decided to buy a D780 to replace my D7100. The reason was that the D850 felt to heavy for me and the D500 is still DX. I wanted to have a look at FX. The first impression is that the camera feels and looks realy cheap. I think this because of the choice of materials and design. Other than that, the grip is quite good and deep.
