I have a K-3 and a K-50. My K-50 has recently started experiencing the aperture solenoid problem. So I’m considering replacing it with something more recent. If I do so, one thing I’d like to accomplish is getting a little faster AF speed from my Tamron 70-200 than what I currently get on the K-3, particularly with my son’s flag football games. I can get really good shots with that combo, but the keeper rate is pretty low. I don’t really have a huge attraction to full frame, but I would be...

Hi, I've been looking to upgrade to a better camera for shooting moving wildlife, mountainous landscapes, and the night sky on a budget. I've been looking for a body in the $800-$1,000 range. I've been using the Nikon d3200 and I have always liked Nikon but am not opposed to learning a new platform. I was able to get some great shots of the comet that just passed too. I was looking into the Nikon d500 but after I added a lens, extra battery, and memory cards, it got pricey. I need a camera...

Hello, I have been doing some astrophotography and the display in the Viewfinder is too bright.  I would like to know if there is a way to dim the brightness.  I have been trying to photograph the Neowise Comet and in a dark sky, the brightness is over powering. -Zigman "Ziggy" Zulkowski

Went out last night to see/photograph comet Neowise. Here is one image. Z7, 24-70mm f/4 @43mm. ISO 1600, 25sec., f/5.6.  I couldn’t see anything at all in the viewfinder or on the monitor. For the shot above, I pointed the camera in the direction of the comet, used the display level, and opened the shutter. There was deep afterglow and the comet was dimly visible to my naked eye. Is there a “gain increase” setting I can use to get a visible image in the viewfinder, or have I hit a hard limit...

Hi, I have a d5600 with a Tamron 18-400 lens which I got to get into wildlife photography. After 18 months I have come to appreciate the limitations of both, so were do I go? Do I get a d7500 or a nikon 200 - 500 vr lens. I had thought of getting the lens first to see how well it worked on the 5600 compared to the tamron but think the af will struggle. I am going to Afica on safari in November, hence why looking now. Suggestions welcome or even alternatives. I do have 2 other dx lens 35mm...

hi I've just got a new D780 and I was playing around looking at photos quite closely to look at noise and focus and to check my picture settings. I mainly use Apple's Photos app and view photos up to 400%.  I also use an app called ImageOne to check photos before adding them to Photos.  It's an easy app to use and allows me to have 1200% magnification.   I looked at a photo of my boy in the garden and noticed an unusual line going across the screen where his blue top met the green grass....

Hi I've owned a Nikon D5100 and a D7500 before moving up to the D780. I have the 24/85mm f3.5-.   my question is this, is it normal for the camera to have noticeably slower FPS, in low light using afc than my D7500? Afs mode is fine, live view is amazingly fast but in ovf, afc it is a lot slower than the D7500. I took some photos for 2+ seconds and the FPS dropped from 7 FPS to 2 FPS.  I know I’ve not measured the available light, but I’m going on memory/experience of the D7500. I used an...

Hello all, I mainly shoot landscapes and astro with my D7500 and I was wondering whether upgrading to the D780 would give me such better results to justify the upgrade price (I'd sell my d7500 and some lenses in order to get the d780 with 24-120). Is upgrading to FF gonna give me a real benefit for my cases? Thanks a lot

hi, i just got a second hand copy of 20 2.8D today, and when i mounted it on D7500, i cannot change the aperture by rotating the dial. In m mode, usually when you change the aperture, the camera body control the aperture on the lens, my problem now is, on the camera screen, its showing i am changing the aperture, but when i take several pictures with same ISO, shutter speed and changing aperture, i realize the picture actually F stop is stick to 2.8 always, but the camera is showing F2.8-F22...
