Hi everyone, Few months ago I bought the Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 after having read so many positive reviews and it's indeed a fantastic lens and I love using it on my D750. The other day, however, I took some pictures in a park and when I came home to develop them in Lightroom I found a very weird behavior that I haven't seen before. The out of focus areas have a very strong halo around them that is visible in the raw files. You can see below 2 examples that have been cropped to 1:1 and that...
I love the D750 especially the feel in my hand, and image quality, and reliability .... have had trouble with the loud shutter noise though in several situations. My D810 seems to have a much more damped shutter, less noise, but it's really more of a studio camera to me. Anyway, I read that the D780 has the shutter of a more advanced Nikon (D850?). Any truth to this? Have any of you compared the sound and feel of shutter on D780 vs 750? Thanks, Art --Art M AltmanHeadshot / Portrait...
I'm thinking of getting a spare battery for my camera and need some advice. Should I go with 3rd parties (only ravpower available in my country) or stick with the overpriced original ?And is there any noticeable difference between en-el15 and en-el15a ? Also I have some question regarding my current battery. It's a li-ion 01 genuine en-el15 and I've been using it for quite a while. In the battery meter it says the age of my battery is still at 0 but recently I don't get 900-1000 shots as...

Now that Lightroom supports the D780, I grabbed a few of DPR's NEF sample files to play around with. I notice that there is (now?) a "built-in profile" applied, which I see with my M43 raw files, but not with my D750. Is there something different with D780 NEFs compared to D750 NEFs? Details: DPR's D780 files were shot with lenses like the 70-200 2.8E, 50 1.8D, 85 1.8G, so....fairly modern. On the D750, I'm shooting a lot of older MF and AF screw drive lenses (some of the latter are even...

Only few days ago got my Z7 and yet the honeymoon is in full swing :-D . Besides, Nikon is frustrating me with wireless flash system since I've moved on from D750 to D850 & now Z7. I know there's a lot of info available on DPReview alone however, tell you the truth, I'm more confused now after reading all that. I got a very nice studio lighting system (made in germany Blitz or something?) bundled free with D850 a year ago but never been able to use it using the trigger came with the lighting...
My Nikon D7000 have died. And I'm in the market for a new camera. I have both the Nikon 17-55 and 70-200VR and a couple of flashes. Surely the easy and somewhat sensible choice would to buy new Nikon D7xxx body. But at times I find the Nikon bulky, and as the kids have grown up I don't use the 70-200VR as much as I did when they as active in sports. So it seems sensible to consider my setup. And a mirrorless would be a chance to get a lighter setup. I've been satisfied with the quality of the...
So here is my situation: I shoot with Nikon D3500 and I'm pretty satisfied with it. It does require careful post-processing and effort to find the most efficient settings for shooting, but the results that come from that small camera are really pleasant. For a while I came to idea to purchase one more the same body. That might sound strange to someone, but my reasoning is simple: over having backup body, I will have opportunity to walk with two lenses on, which will help, as I tend to switch...
I have been using D750 and D810 for more than 3+ years. My interest are Landscape and Astro and off course Family travel pics too :). I use Tamron 15-30, Nik 24-70 and Nik 70-200 VRII. Of recently my trips has been remarkably came down as new entrant to our family came 9 months back. Because of which both the cameras are sitting in Dry cab. I'm thinking of off loading one of the camera either D750/D810. I love shooting with both the cameras. So I'm not able to come to conclusion in let go of...

Hey gang, just needing a little guidance, help, direction, you name it, I think I need it...Here is my situation that I find myself in more than I want. I am a professional wrestler on weekends and travel to many different venues, and work in many different buildings/lighting situations. I have been behind the camera for over 30 years, so I know my way around the settings. But when I am in the ring, my wife is doing all the shooting and I try to get everything set up on the camera before...
