Hello All I used D5000 with 55-200mm VR for sharp portrait and also i have used other cameras such as Pentax k-x and K50 with 55-300mm that gave sharp images but before 2 years , i found Sony a65 with SAM 55-200mm gave better IQ. Now im interesting in different Nikon cameras with 85mm 1.8G for sharp portraits. I found in some reviews that Nikon D5300 gave excellent IQ and better than D7100. i also wrote that D7200 and D7100 have better focusing system than D5300. I like D5300 for the...
Hi All, (funny my subject sounds like a personal add , LOL) Looking for a travel camera. I have been researching p&s, Panasonic and Fuji X mirrorless. My thought is since i have the Nikon D750 and lenses for the D750 lets look at a smaller Nikon I can use and not have to buy lenses for and if I did maybe one lens at most. I just did the side by side compare and cant tell too much differences past articulating LCD or not, maybe one better for Video use that I will use, like to So can you help...
Hello all i need your help if any have Nikon D7100, D7200 or D5300 with Nikon 85mm 1.8G that is well known for very sharp image? I have used Sony a65 with SAM 55-200mm that makes sharp images but im wondering if the above combination of Nikon D and the above lens could do better IQ with regards.
O great and powerful Nikon Gods, hear my prayer... I purchased a Nikon D3200 with a 50mm f1.8 a few months ago in the hopes that myself and my buddy (who also owns a D3200 but with a 35mm f1.8) could go into a portraiture business together. Well those plans have fallen through, and I now find myself at a crossroads. I have the funds for another lens, and this next lens purchase will probably determine which mount I buy into in the future. If I buy the 35mm f1.8 DX, for instance, then I will...
Hi! I've just gotten my new D7100 and I'm having a weird problem, I can't use any of the left hand side buttons (Menu, Zoom, etc). I am pretty sure this is because of a stuck button, but I am not sure which! I have found that when I have the camera turned on and am not pressing any buttons, the top screen shows this. Does this give any indication of what button is stuck (by the way, as soon as I go halfway on the shutter, the screen shows more information). I cannot change any settings when...

I just purchased a new monopod. It is very nicely made, very light weight and holds up to 22 #s. It has a sturdy rubber tipped bottom. I also bought a tilt head to go with it. The one I have now is the Induro CM25 carbon 8x monopod. The tilt head is the Benro DJ80. What I am finding, however, is that although I think the concept of having a monopod is a very good one, I notice that I can't hold it as still as I do when I hand hold my camera. This is the case when I use my heavy zoom lens and...
Hey folks, I'm back with a question. I was out shooting Snow geese today, with my 80 400g, off my monopod, first wrong support, should have taken tripod. I'm too jittery with monopod. I have a Kenko 1.4 pro TC, I've been reluctant to use it with this Nikon "G" lens? would it be okay? and how about Nikons 1.4? my D7100 will AF at F8, I used my Kenko with my Nikon 80 200 two ring, way back and with my Nikon 300 F4 non D, just never sold it, I did use it once on my old 80 400 ED but I went...

Hello, I currently have owned for a long time a d3200. I feel like it's not enough, it does not capture the clouds well in photos and night time photos have been a challenge. I think its time to upgrade to a better body camera. I want to move to the d7100/7200, I choice this body since it's the best next to FX. So since I am getting a new body and have decided I will not go the Fx route, possibly ever I should get the 24.70 2.8 off my mind. The crop isn't the best on the Dx cameras. So I have...

I've had the Sigma 150-500mm OS for a few years now and am currently using it on a Nikon D7100 body. I've managed to get good images with it but find that it is a hit or miss. I'm wondering if the new Contemporary lens is worth the upgrade? I'd love to buy the Nikon 200-500mm but it's just out of my price range. For those who have gone to the 150-600mm C from the 150-500mm OS, is there a remarkable improvement that's worth the additional cost? The extra reach would be nice but I'm mainly...
