I use a camera professionally every day for my business, however I'm not a photographer. I photograph details on cars during inspections. I need a lens that is wide and the most challenging aspect I deal with is lighting. The cars are always stationary, and in close range. Lighting is the variable, outdoors, indoors, etc. I have been using a D40x DSLR for the past years and would like a lighter, smaller package that is capable. I feel that a 7800 should be a much better camera just because of...
I have had my D40X for about 5 years, right about when it came out. While it has been a great camera I've started noticing some instances where my Nikon S9100 is out performing it. Mostrecently was the 4th of July when I couldn't get the camera to focus quick enough for the fireworks. I switched to the 9100 & I was in business. Keep in mind I'm very much a novice with SLR cameras so it could be user error. I've looked at both the 5200 & 3200 and I've used my dad's 7000 and I'm somewhat...

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a camera that allows me to connect it to a PC, point it to a scene with a green background, and have the PC show it on a TV, overlaid on a second image, replacing the green background with the second image. Basically, I'm talking about real-time/live chroma-key/green-screen from the camera, to the PC, to the TV. In other words, my goal is to have the LiveView "feed" from the camera to the PC, where the chroma-keying occurs, and is then output it to the TV. I've...

Hi there, I am upgrading my old D40X to a D7100 and buying a 10-24mm lens. I also wanted to buy another zoom lens covering a normal range and I thought of the Nikon 24-85mm because I don't want to spend over $1000, but I still want a lens that I can use later when I decide to upgrade to an FX body. So, my question is: which lens should I get, the 24-85 f/2.8-4 IF AF or the 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 ED VR? They are almost the same price, but I can get a $100 discount on the new 24-85mm VR if I buy it...
