kind of in emulation of the D40 / CCD sensor discussions on the D40/D90 etc Forum. I had one of these for a while a few years ago (bought used and sold again). It was a nice light lens and performed well in daylight. Anyone still using it now? On older or newer bodies? Thoughts?

Next summer l want to fly to St Louis so l can go to the Museum of Transportation. l have a D7100 for the main body. Also have a D40 for backup in case the D7100 fails. Or instead of the D40, l could get a used D7000. The 7000 is larger than the D40. But since the 7000 and 7100 can share batteries and charger, it may be a lighter package. What would you do? Buy a 7000 or take the D40 for a backup body? --Billlf it's full frame, then l can't afford it.Poverty cures G.A.S.

Looking for a super light weight zoom. l have the Nikon 18-135 that weighs less than 400g, but no VR. Don't want the 18-55 AF-P because l don't like focus by wire. And it can't be used on the D40 and the D7100 will need a firmware upgrade to use AF-P. Also l want a lens with AF/MF and VR switches on the lens. So it's between the AF-S VR l or ll. ls there any real difference in lQ between the two of them? --Billlf it's full frame, then l can't afford it.Poverty cures G.A.S.

Hi! I have a Nikon D40 digital camera that I have to sell. I also have a Nikon HB-34 lens hood and a speedlight SB-600. I am not knowledgeable in cameras and real photography and I'm not fully sure the ins and outs of what I have. I would love to have some help with identifying my equipment and the best way to sell it. I will have photos included.

Hi everyone. New guy here. I have D40 with a TT600. I was playing around with the flash and trying out the max sync speed hack of covering up the one pin on the hot shoe. It works perfect! I can use the flash at any shutter speed when the flash is mounted on the camera itself. My question is when I use the TT600 as an off camera flash with a X2T trigger i can only shoot up to 1/1000 shutter speed before the image blacks out. Increasing the flash power did not help either. Looks like the X2T...

I can't find my charger. I have a D40 with a EN-EL9 battery and a D5100 with an EL-EL14 battery. Is there a Nikon charger that will charge both of these? Also, if I want to replace them, which battery should I get?  Thanks for your help!

Hi guys,  I have a question, hopefully it's not too boring for you. I have an old Nikon D40. A friend of mine gave a Olympus Zuiko 50mm lens and I would like to try it on the D40. Does anyone know if there's a cheap adapter for this, and the name of the model? Thank you very much!

Hi All, I need some advice on what to do about the spots & smudges on all my photos. I'm getting tired of editing them out. I've cleaned both of my lenses and the inside of the camera (with brushes, cloths, and air) to no avail. I have my grandparents' old hand-me-down Nikon D40 and a Nikkor 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens.  Thank you for your time!
