I have recently purchased a demo D1 kit. One 1000 and 2 500s. i am using an Air Remote TTL-N. I notice when I use these there is a delay between the shutter release and the strobes firing. Have I missed something in set up or is this just how these beasts perform. Thanks in advance.

Being a hardware design engineer i cannot imagine the reason that Nikon could not switch the motor type in some new lenses (AF-P type) and not keep compatibility with older cameras. I am not familiar with the electrical connections they use in the mount, but i assume they use a few pins (4 maybe) to keep compatibility with AF type lenses where the lens just reports focal length to the camera. For driving the focus motor and VR they must use at least two pins to power the lens and at least two...
Got a 7200 for my wife and she wanted to use one of the D modes dedicated to only photographing her paintings. Somehow the D1 and D2 are both locked into Priority and we cannot find a way out! She wants to have the freedom of Manual. I don't think they came that way but in fooling around, somehow we got them both on Priority. The manual says they can be used with Manual...?? Thanks for your help/Neil
Hello, I've bought a D1h that has the SI indication plate missing (the clear one with the focus marks on, that sits above the focus screen), I have a spare parts D1 that's got SI indication plate in it. How hard would this be to swap over?Cheers.
What is the use of the d11 setting? The manual says is for minimizing blur. Someone suggested it is usefull for hand helding in slow speeds at low light. But I get more blur this way. With the camera on tripod I use the two seconds delay, not this feature. Any advice?
Can anyone tell me if the initial problems with this battery draining (even when camera turned off) have been solved by the manufacturer. I used a Vertax battery grip on my D7100 and never experienced any issues. The last negative comment I could find was dated 2014. I don't want to spend a fortune on the authentic Nikon battery grip. thanks Seth

Hi All, This is my first post here and I know that the question I am asking had been asked (and answered! ) 100's of times in the past , still I want some quick guidance / pointers. Some background: I am trainer and interested in starting some on-line training courses, for that I am planning to make short videos of 15 - 20 minutes maximum. This is typically a live capture of my lecture in a class room but while shooting there won't be anybody in front of me. I will always shot in a closed...
. . to do with Sigma/Foveon conversion. As we know, the Foveon sensor puts out three channels, top layer, middle layer and bottom layer (cam TMB) - often called "blue", "green" and "red". No need to tell me that the layer signals are not really RGB. In the meta-data for Sigma cameras prior to Merrills and Quattros there is a 3x3 matrix that converts the sensor outputs to XYZ_Flash where "Flash" is indicating the reference white for the conversion and is probably close to D55. I'm looking for...
