Hello Ladies and Gents I've just purchased a second hand Nikon AW1from Ebay. I've checked all the seals and put it into a sink full of water. I've noticed air bubbles are escaping from the zoon ring. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? I realise that there must be some air trapped in this crevice before the internal seals. I'm reluctant to go into the water till I find out this is normal. Thankyou for your responses. Keel

Hi guys, I am trying to work on my photography skills and am having acouple issues with photos coming out funky. I was hoping you guys could take a look at acouple photos and offer advise why they came out this way. At this size that I uploaded the pictures for this post the "flaws" or areas that i have issues with seem minor, but when you up the resolution and size they are quite apparent. 1. nikon aw1 10-20mm (fill flash) This first image was taken in the evening using a flash. My biggest...

I own two V1’s and am very happy with the IQ. I am considering adding an AW1 + AW zoom for outdoor activities in the rain. I remember reading quite a few testaments of flooding when used in or near water (e.g. river rafting), but I cannot find any reports of flooding problems due to rain only. So I have a couple of questions: 1) Has anyone ever experienced (or read of) flooding due to rain? 2) Has anyone who recently acquired a new AW1 experienced flooding problems in or near water? 3) The...
Hi. I'm researching an underwater camera in the $800-$1,000 range. I'm not happy with the image quality I've seen in Sealife and Nikon 1 AW1, I assume because of the small sensors. I also assume I need to spend at least $600 to get the images I want. I'd like to shoot focal lengths equivalent to 70-110mm as well as video. Because most of the underwater cameras are wide angle and have small sensors/high ISO I assume I will be best off with an underwater housing on a conventional camera. I'm...

Hello, I read from the a thread (link below) the Nikon AW1, 10mm, and the Olympus FCON-P01 Fisheye Convertor works well. Would it also work on the 10mm for Nikon V2? I can not find any other pictures or information regarding this. I saw several pictures and reviews of the Convertor, however it does not looks its just a screw on. Would I need another adapter for it? Thanks in advance, Daseul http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/55101736

Hi all, I have a Nikon 1 AW1 which I bought about a year ago. I use it with the kit zoom lens. The zoom lens has never left the camera since I put it on the camera when I first used it. So, it hasn't been off for over a year now. I use the camera only now and then, mostly in heavy rain or when sailing or canoeing. I don't really use it for underwater snorkeling or anything, although I sometimes have put it underwater for a short while. (So far, never had a problem with leakage or anything,...
