Hi all
I'm a happy owner of a Nikon Z50 which is glued to my Nikkor 200-500mm f5.6. It serves me greatly in my home country of Belgium where the wildlife is small and skittish and the equivalent reach of 300-750mm comes in handy more often than not.
However I took this combination on safari to Kenya last year (amazing trip!) and I did stumble upon its limits:
I found the "wide" focal length of 300mm too much for my personal shooting style. Often the animals were too close and I had to fall...

I got a Z50 for a day and I took a few photos—on a very dull cloudy English winter day—but I am baffled by the raw files, and the JPGs alike. The 55-250mm Z DX lens shows a significant amount of vignetting, both in JPG and RAW. It looks as if the lens corrections are not applied to the RAW files. I took the files to a friend of mine who has Photoshop and his Camera Raw—latest version—shows that a built-in profile from the raw file was automatically applied. But the vignetting is still there....
