I just received an AF Nikkor 80-400mm ED lens, and upon testing it with my D7200, it will not autofocus. I tried it on a D300 and the autofocus works, just not on my 7200. I made sure the Autofocus settings on the camera and the lens are set to auto and the limit switch is off. Everything I have read says this lens should be compatible with my camera. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Hello, I want to buy a 80-400mm mainly for landscape. I'm not intersting at all about electronique stuff like : AF speed, VR performance, silent AF... What what interested me most is sharpness, lens flare and image quality. i want to know if the newest af-s 80-400mm is superior or both lens are close thank you

My current 80-200mm f/2.8D ED (NO VR) isn't providing much of a reach and was hoping I could use my sigma 150-500, but with a 5.6-6.3 aperture, that just seemed impossible. I, however, have found a 2nd hand 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED VR and was thinking of getting it instead of the 80-200. Selling price for the 80-200: 500$ Buying price for the 80-400: 1100$ Is it a good move? --hi...

I don't want to write too much, but basically, I think getting a 400mm prime could be much lighter + better image quality solution. It's probably pretty close to being comparable to Canon's 400mm 5.6. Both the "Tony Northrup" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fmMG5jgDwk&list=PLwIVS3_dKVpsjSZrQ7H-Nw8GQ7ZuDYyaD tamron review ,...
