Hi, i found that my best photos were taken so far by my kit lens 55-200 in focal range 90-120 on Nikon d7000, and i think it is time to get better quality lens to move forward. What are the upgrades available for this lens weather from Nikon or even sigma. I used this lens for Landscape, cityscape, portrait and events. Regards

I've been doing some recreational bird photography with the first-generation 55-200 (no VR), and while it's adequate for snapping pictures of birds at feeders, I'd like something with a bit more range. VR/VC and faster AF would be appreciated as well. I don't expect my pictures to be National Geographic quality, but there are some cool birds in my area (notably Ospreys, Kingfishers, and Eastern Bluebirds) that I'd like to document. It's just for fun. My budget is $500 or so. Thanks for the help!
