I need a lens for ballet performance or dress rehearsal. I have a Nikon D5600 and am considering the Sigma 18-200 Contemporary vs the Nikon 55-200 VR II. I have the Nikon 35mm 1.8 and the 18-55 kit lens.Would either one of the two lens be an advantage over the other. I do like the Sigma 18-200 C so not to have switch out lens.

Hello all, I currently have a d5500 with the kit lens 18-55mm, Tokina 11-20mm, 35mm dx prime. I am looking to buy another lens that will essentially replace the 18-55mm. Since the wide angle and standard zooms ranges are covered with the prime and tokina, I was considering the 35mm fx prime(dx equivalent of 50mm?) , 50mm fx prime(dx equivalent of 75mm?) or 55-200mm zoom lens. I would be grateful for any suggestions or advice. In short:Which is a better lens that would complement my prime and...

Hi guys! I just bought a new Nikkor 55-200 VR Iens. It makes a faint click at the 135 mm mark when I zoom from 55 all the way to 200 mm. Is this normal behaviour? Everything else seems to work fine. I didn't have time to shoot with it too much. Thank you in advance!

Hello, I would like some advice please. I am going to buy the D3300 soon and I was wondering which kit should I get. I am not considering the one only with 18-55mm, but I'm completely torn between 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G VR and 18-55 VR + 55-200 VR II kits. At first I was almost sure I would get the double kit, but now I'm starting to have doubts. Priamrily because I know what a hassle it is to switch between lenses on the go. I am buying the D3300 for casual shooting, I am a beginner. I am...

Hi everyone, I am shooting with a D5100, using a Sigma 10-20/4-5.6 and a Nikon 35/1.8. I'm newly based in Switzerland and travelling as much as possible with my camera. My photos are basically travel, city/street photos and landscapes. I find I can't always get close enough to somethings to shoot what I want (especially on mountain hikes) and would like your input on my next lens. New or used I'd like to keep under $600 max (USD). I've looked at the Sigma 17-70/2.8 which would be great for...

Hi, I have Nikon D5500 with two lenses: AF-P 18-55 VR and AF-S 55-200 VR II. I need suggestions for a really cheap telephoto lens or teleconverter+lens combination that is suitable for moon shots. Something that give me 400mm or 500mm reach. I won't be using it just for moon though. I won't mind if it lacks VR and AF. Basically I need good image quality and reach for affordable price. Should I trade-in my 55-200 for 70-300 and a tele-converter? Thanks a lot !!

Hello Just got my Nikon D5200 a few weeks ago and already want a zoom lens, i am looking at either selling my kit lens and buying the Tamron 18-200 f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC or keeping my kit lens and buying the Nikon AF-S 55-200 f/4-5.6G ED VR II to have alongside it. If i was to go down the Tamron route i would probably save a few pennies and only need to lug one lens around, however the Nikon wouldn't be third party and may appear more professional. If anyone has any experience with either of...

Hey folks! I'm new to the Nikon forum and i've been doing some research on buying my first prime lens!My goal is to be a slave of bokeh (background blur) with a 50mm lens while creating a hole in my wallet of less than $400 bucks. But upon research, I have also discovered that the focal length and aperture are multiplied by the crop factor of the sensor.  FYI: I have a D7000 with the basic kit lens (18-55mm VR) and a telephoto (70-300mm no VR) and am currently looking at purchasing a 50mm...

Hi everyone :-) Since yesterday (blackfriday), there are very good deals everywhere. I have been waiting for a few months to buy my first dslr, and I will do it this weekend to get the best for my money. The only problem I find, is to decide what to get... :-| I do a bit of everything but what I like best taking is landscapes, mountains, lakes (outdoor photography). I am also fascinated by night shots (milky way, etc). I would definitely travel with it also (backpacking, hiking, skiing, etc)....
