Hey, I just got my Helios 44-2, unfortunately it came without front and rear lens cap, can I use the regular clip on front cap as long as it's 49mm in diameter? For the lens cap - I've ordered M42 to Nikon adapter, can I use the rear cap from either the Nikkor 40mm f/2.8 (screw on) or from the 18-55mm II kit lens (push on) on the adapter and cover the rear of the lens that way? Or do I have to buy separate rear cap specially for the 44-2? Thank you, if anything is unclear, please tell me,...

After having experimented with cheap macro alternatives like reverse lens, extension tubes and Raynox DCR-150, I had a chance to try out Zeiss macro lenses this Sunday, and I loved the experience. I think I'm mentally ready to invest in a proper macro lens in a couple of months, and I would like to keep it Nikkor (no third party lens). As I understand it, the Nikkor macros available here in India are the 40 mm, 60 mm, 85 mm and 105 mm. The 105 mm is reasonably expensive, so unless it offers a...

Hey, this question probably pops up a lot but I was wondering how DX users feel, or FX (60mm Micro 2.8 vs 50mm 1.8) I am selling my awesome 50mm 1.8D lens that gives a nice bokeh effect because I felt the focal length was too long for a walking lens. Taking it to the park gave me a lot of limitations trying to compose my shots. This lens's FOV is also too narrow because I want to be able to do street photography. The 18-105mm kit lens that came with my D7000 is a decent general-purpose that...

After much deliberation, I bought the 35mm lens but have not opened the box as I wonder if the 40mm micro would be better for shooting newborns.  Can anyone recommend one over the other?  I also have a 24-85mm lens but wanted something with a wider aperture for natural lighting.  I also want to use it for full lenght adults.  The 35mm seems to get better reviews, ny comments??Confused!
