I have six questions. Knowledge level beginner. History: Bought to photographer my daughters fastpitch games and it did the job from MS to College. I have not used my Nikon D3100 camera in years (At least 5). It has been sitting in the camera bag. The last one to use it was my son in HS for a school project. I am dusting this camera off for vacation. have been to National Parks and have missed some great pics because I didn't take this camera. So I am getting it ready for my next trip in...

Hey, I just got my Helios 44-2, unfortunately it came without front and rear lens cap, can I use the regular clip on front cap as long as it's 49mm in diameter? For the lens cap - I've ordered M42 to Nikon adapter, can I use the rear cap from either the Nikkor 40mm f/2.8 (screw on) or from the 18-55mm II kit lens (push on) on the adapter and cover the rear of the lens that way? Or do I have to buy separate rear cap specially for the 44-2? Thank you, if anything is unclear, please tell me,...

Hi! I am just starting to really try and better my photography. I have my husbands Nikon D40 that I'm currently using. My best friend is about to have her baby in March and asked if i could take some pictures during birth. Im not all that great with the camera, but would like to take pictures in something other than Auto. I know the lighting is tricky being in a hospital. But i was wondering if anyone had any advice to give? What would be the best settings to use? I currently have a Nikon AF...

Hi Guys, I have a query regarding the usage of Nikon 18-55mm VR II and Nikon 55-200mm VR II Lenses. Few days back I bought Nikon D3300 along with the above kit lenses.... Now I want to know when should I use which lens? 55-200mm is a zoom lens. So by default it should be used while capturing some distant subject.. Other than this when should I use 18-55mm and when should I use 55-200mm? I am interested for the below photographies: 1. Landscape 2. Portrait 3. Low Light Portrait 4....

Hi, I have a relatively new (less than 1 year old) Nikon D5300. It has been working fine for a while, but today I turned it on to take some pictures but the autofocus through the viewfinder will not work. I Have to hold the button halfway to focus, but then it waits around 5 seconds before going through its whole range of focus. When I use the screen to autofocus, it works just fine. I have two lenses, the Nikon DX AF-S 18-55mm and the Nikon DX AF-S 55-300mm. It doesn't matter which lens I...
