I'm shooting DX (D7100) and plan to stick with it a few more years. I'm currently having DX 16-85 f/3.5-5.6 which is a fairly good all-purpose lens but quite slow (got that lens used for only $200) so it won't be useful in many occasions. I'm considering a new zoom lens. In my country, the DX 17-55 f/2.8 costs around $300, DX 16-80 f/2.8-4 costs around $450 and Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 costs $170, all used. I know VR on 16-80 is very effective in low light (reviewed by KenRockwell) but other than VR...

Hi guys, I have a Nikon D500. My walk around lens is a sigma 17-50 f2.8. Sharpness is really good for the price, especially at 50mm, BUT BUT BUT, the focus is really unreliable. Basically, only the central focus point can be used with certainty (confirmed with Sigma themselves, too). This means that shooting events, for example, is very challenging as I cannot use AF-C with any point other than the central one... I would like to make the most of my D500 so wondering if the Nikon works as...

I have a 17-55mm Nikkor which i used in combination with my D300s. A perfect couple. Hardly no AF tuning necessary. Very sharp. Now I also own a D7200. This camera "listens" quite good to all of my lenses, especially the primes. But I really struggle with my 17-55mm. Measuring the AF deviation with the DotTune method shows these values of back- and frontfocus corrections: 17mm = +824mm = +328mm = +635mm = +145mm = -4 !55mm = +3 If I try to figure it out with the aid of Focus-chart, camera 45...

Hello all. I have a Nikon D7200, which I use for wildlife and landscape photographer, mostly. I find myself either at the short or really long end when shooting as a result. I have a Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 and a Nikon 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G for landscape and wildlife respectively. And I am very happy with these two. I also have a Nikon 35mm f1.8, which I got as my very first lens and used for overall walking around. Lately I have been asked to photograph events (birthday parties, office...
Hi all, I recently am considering to buy a used 17-55 lens for my D7100. After I read some discussions and reviews I have some questions: I understand this lens has no VR. The reason I buy the lens is for my general purpose travel lens. I usually like to take pictures of landscape, buildings, street, indoor (e.g museum) and so on. I don't often take portraits. Do you think in my case the missing of VR will matter a lot? I have never bought any used lens before. When I meet seller or go to...
