This lens has become, like my D800E an old friend. I've recently been doing a lot of flash-lit portraiture and have found that this focal length is kind of ideal for flattering most of my subjects. Interestingly, subjectively, it's better at 135mm at f/11 than my 70-200 f/2.8 VR II is at 135mm at f/11 and I feel it's able to focus more closely although I don't know the statistic.
