I purchased the P80 as a supplement to my D200 and find it to be an excellent choice, both in the quality of the images and the ease of use. I highly recommend this choice.

I am a beginner, The P80 was an upgrade for me from a cannon power shot SD1000. I bought this camera 3 days before a trip, took it out the night I got it to learn the features. I took some great night city skylite shots the first day I got the camera. Very easy to learn and use. To be honest I never thought I could take some of the photo's I have. I have taken some great shots at football games from 60 rows up and some great landscape shots as well. The zoom is great! I have had some ...

An excellent one I've ever had. I'll rate it as a thumb up. It is an upgrade DC for my Canon SD750, and I used it for about 2 weeks now. Worthy to spend $280USD for this small DC with some pro features. (Some website sell it for only $235 now!) - 18x zoom is unbelievable well-performed. I used it to take pictures for the moon, Jupiter and Venus on Dec 1, and the picture is so nice, almost as same as those pictures posted by professional website for that sky scenery. - 15 different scene mode ...

Three months of experience, over 1000 pics with this camera. Very pleased overall. Images are very good for a superzoom (not stellar like with an SLR, but very useable), some barrel distortion on wide angle and IQ is fuzzy at longest focal length but overall not bad IMO. Handy, well built, flash powerful enough for everyday use in most settings. No problems with drained battery (about 300 shots limit though). Once you get accustomed to menu, you are off and running. Video is adequate ...

Images look good. The lens is beautiful. Nice to carry/handle. Problems: I can't believe it. No live preview, no live histogram. One or both is important for, esp. for manual mode.

I bought the P80 a month ago and have taken about 500 images. It is a replacement for my Panasonic DMC-FZ5. I compared the P80 to the newer Panasonics but the Nikon was available locally so I bought it. I need a smaller compact camera for hiking/ biking trips where I do not want to carry a lot of weight. I prefer a long optical zoom for outdoors and burst mode for sports. Overall, I am very disappointed with the image quality. For single shots in ideal conditions, it is great. But for ...

Bought this camera as compensation to my trip into China instead of my heavy D300 and all the lenses, Flash, etc. Without reading the manual I got to do all the setup and all it's function. A gem to have in my special case besides the big D300. Realizing that the results could never compared to the D300. Total different concept. Ok, by saying this I made the choice over the new Panasonic FZ 28. 1st it isn't available. 2nd, the Panasonic is bigger, like Sony and Olympus. The P80 just fits ...

Bought this camera about a month ago and have been using it a lot. My use is mostly nature in daylight and I may say that the camera is doing a superb job. I hardly use the automatic modes as I like to be in control of the output myself. There are small things that could have been better, but for this price you shall search for a long time before finding anything better. I recommend this camera for nature shots and family pics. Problems: Nothing so far.

Construction: Well, titanium would be more durable than plastic... see Value for Money. Features: Love everything, especially the Distortion Correction, and the LONG telephoto and the 27mm wide angle. I will have little use of the continuous shooting features, so flaws mentioned in other reviews do not affect me. Sorely missed however, is RAW. Both Nikon and Canon seem to have abandoned it in their compact cameras... possibly because they are so slow in that mode. Image quality: As I will use ...

Good Camera! I just want to put that out first. I read a lot of discouraging reviews on here of people expecting perfection and from a cameras that’s not an SLR. Well to bring truth and balance to the insane reviews on here I give this camera a thumbs up. So from the average camera person I can tell you for $350 you can’t be disappointed with this camera. It has an out standing 18X zoom and which is complimented by the 10.1 MP and the image stabilization is great, not just good but great for ...
