Hello! I have a coolpix p510 and shutter button fell off yesterday. It looks like it could possibly be reinstalled by precisely alignment and a twist to lock into position. I see there is a complete console available that would require disassembly. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Nikon Coolpix P520 has a 3.7 volt Li-ion battery. I have not used the camera in several months so I expect the battery would be uncharged. The battery is charged while installed in the camera. When I attach the USB cable the charging light goes on (solidly) for a few minutes & then goes out. It is suppoed to flash repeatedly while charging; instead, it does nothing. Leaving it plugged in achieves nothing. The camera can't perform as a camera while charging so I have no way of checking if it...
Does this model support a webcam/recording mode straight to a PC without having to copy video from the SD card? For example, I see a lot of the DSLRs can be used for that with third party software, but I'm not seeing an option for it on the P520. Firmware is v1.0. Changelog for v1.1 doesn't mention any related changes. Whether or not it supports this feature, what technical specification should I look for in the future to differentiate? Thanks!
For the past couple years I've shot with a Nikon Coolpix P520. I'm looking at upgrading - switching to Canon though. I've been looking around - and thought I'd get a Rebel - probably the T6i or T6s, but now I'm seeing the Canon 7D. It looks like a great camera - but I see that it came out in 2009 and that makes me feel like I'd be getting something already outdated. Any thoughts? Any other cameras you'd suggest? I appreciate all the help I can get! :)
I’ve recently purchased the Nikon P900 and was hoping for some guidance regarding one aspect of the camera I’m struggling with. When I take photos of people close up I prefer to use a flash to even out skin tone, shadows, etc. With my previous camera Coolpix P520, the flash always went off if it was popped up. However, an issue I’ve encountered with P900 is that although I’ll pop the flash up, often the flash doesn’t illuminate the subject directly in front of me when I take a photo, and it...

Hi! Last summer I bought Nikon P520, and it turned out to be a great camera. Many many hours were spent in the forest watching birds. While this camera is great for the price, there are a few shortcomings I'd like to address by buying something other for the next season: 1. Viewfinder is not suitable for birding - too small, too grainy, can't recognize small details to focus properly. 2. Unreliable focus - lots of missed valuable moments. 3. Shutter lag - bird is often already gone. 4. Too...
