The headline feature is the zoom.  It is great.  But do you want to carry a tripod with you?  It's pretty hard to hold a 20x image stable, yet alone this camera's 35x.  However it has pretty good image stabilization, and REALLY good stabilization in 1080p videos as it over samples the edges and shifts the image around along with great optical stabilization.
