I'm trying to decide between the Lumix zs200 (1" sensor, 15x zoom) and the Coolpix a900 (1/2.3" sensor, 35x zoom). The a900 zoom can 'bring in' distant objects much closer than the zs200 zoom, thereby requiring less cropping in many situations. My question: Will image quality of more severely cropped zs200 images be as good or even better than the a900, due to the larger zs200 sensor? I realize that at low magnification, zs200 image quality should beat the a900. But I'm unclear whether for...
I have the Nikon Coolpix A900. I have installed SnapBridge in my Android Mobile phone (Nokia 6) and I am able to remote control to release shutter of my camera. Is there any other remote control to release shutter using Android app for this camera? Is there any remote control device for this camera? Thanks.
I have a D7200 and D700 with a load of heavy lenses. BUT. . . I have a likely opportunity to travel to a remote and distressed area of the world to offer support and care to people in need. My main task will be to provide care, not photography. Thus, I am wanting to have a camera that allows for some chance of good photojournalistic and representative images but with a small and manageable camera. I like the idea of an A900, but the P700 also looks like a possible good option. The former...
I am interested in pre-ordering this new offering from Pentax. Reason why I want to buy this are these: a) HD Video b) Higher ISO Performance for still photos. I currently own Sony A900 FF camera which I purchased in 2008. I also have a few very good lenses. But..... This camera body does not do video. Likewise, anything above ISO 400, image quality can be better. Quesions... a) How is the video capability of current Pentax K1 ? (I am a newbie in the video area) b) How high of an ISO Setting...
Some legacy Minolta A Mount lenses (either from Minolta or third party) suffer from the lack of anti-reflective coating on the rear lens element facing the sensor as follows: Caused by the light bouncing off the imaging sensor to the lens and back to the sensor, a 'hot spot', a brightened picture center can result. Visibility of this depends on the aperture used. When shooting film, such anti-reflective coating isn't needed as film is much less reflective as the rather 'shiny' digital imaging...
Hi guys, I have a Nikon A900 which was connected to my Iphone when I first purchased in back in Dec 2016. Somewhere down the road, the connection was lost; maybe when I upgraded my IOS and my phone has never been able to detect the camera anymore. I've tried deleting and reinstalling Snapbridge, restarting my iphone but no use. BTW, I'm on IOS 11.1.0 Any advise?
I find myself mulling over the subject question after picking up my A99ii, and I am curious what the hive mind would do in my situation. I love wildlife and action shooting (boats, cars, people, etc), so i have made it a point to have a good lens for that. Many years ago, i was able to grab a Sigma 300mm 2.8 EX for a reasonable price, and have used it for years with my A900. Now with the new camera, i wonder if this is still the best lens for me. Some background info: This is a first gen...
Just got a Nikon Coolpix A900 a few weeks ago. Overall I like it, but I'm having trouble with panorama. I get halfway thru moving the camera from one side to the other, and get a message that it can't record because you can only move the camera in 1 direction. I AM moving in only 1 direction! Anyone else having this problem or have a fix?

So the time has come to start looking for a new full frame. I was not particularly ever considering an upgrade for a while, especially since Sony was going E-mount the whole way for years. Eventually I will need to switch, I told to myself, but then comes the A99 II which blew me away and surprised me as a new A-mount full frame that took care of a lot of concerns. I have an A850 that has served me well over the years, and a healthy collection of great glass (Sony 85mm 1.4 ZA, 135mm 1.8 ZA,...
