After having all the discussions in Thread 1 and Thread 2, I have taken the plunge and bought an E-M1.2 with 12-40 Pro. For travel, I am getting the Panasonic 14-140 tomorrow, available for $230 used. I have not tinkered much with it, but I've loved the limited clicks done using the camera so far. My campus corridor with Pop Art filter My first try with the live composite view. I am getting a feeling that I will use live-composite more often. Now the question and my dilemma is that apart from...
New guy here, photo tyro with a100 and a200, as well as a "pile" of glass. Purchased this adapter recently. It was sold as an a-mount to MC/MD adapter. It is not. It definitely fits my a-mount cameras, but an MC lens I have doesn't fit on it. It appears to have been made by Minolta. Any ideas? These were grab shots at 210mm handheld. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! ;) --Zorba"The Veiled Male"
I have taken an interest again in photography after many years, I have a Sony A100 which is in mint condition, it was a gift several years ago on my 70th birthday, so I want to use it. I have a few Canon FD lenses in excellent condition which I want to use with the A100, I read I could use an adapter to allow me to do that so I have bought one. I am unfamiliar with the intricacies of the A100, even after reading some of the comments on line and this site I am at a loss to get to grips with...
How far in to the zoom range does the minimum focus distance exceed one metre? I like to take photos of butterflies and my current long zoom cameras can focus as close as one metre at around 600mm which feels about right for me. What is the focus speed like and is there much shutter lag? Is auto exposure and auto white balance reliable? I have a Sony RX100 which I think I will sell because it often underexposes shots and the auto white balance sometimes is way off. My old Canon SX240 has...

Recently I found a need for a pocketable long-zoom, for two reasons: Stealth. I'll save 100 words here as you might already know what I'm going to say. Portability. If I'm just going to idle in a park for a while and not on a serious birdwatching mission, I might want a light and compact camera. I've studied Nikon A1000 and Canon SX720/730/740 HS. They all have a thickness no more than 4cm, and the Canon ones have the longest zoom within the 4cm thickness: 960mm. The SX720 HS is the...
I am very much an amateur photographer and have a challenge to produce a double exposure photo. I had a P900 for a while but smashed it in an accident. I need step by step instructions as to how to get to the right place to get the settings set. I have tried to watch a video but it is done too rapidly for me to follow and I can't stop the video each time to check where I am up to.
My son borrowed my DT 16-105 f3.5-5.6 recently and I think he has tried to zoom with the front focusing ring. I find the zoom to be stiff, even sometimes not being able to zoom from 16 mm to 105 mm ie sticking at a focal length. I also have noticed that though the camera can auto focus with the lense the actual focusing ring at the front of the lense does not move at all. I can manually move the ring but I do not see the focus changing through the viewfinder. All of the above occur when the...
