I am very disattisfied with this camera. Focus speed was horribly slow, as it writing speed to microdrive. Focus was erratic. When shooting in RAW mode, processing in Capture took twice as long or more than RAW files produced with a D1X. This camera is heading back to eBay, from whence it came. Tripod mount is not under the sensor. EV was awful. Problems: First camera arrived with its flash inoperable and had many bad pixels. Second camera was fine, but misfeatures described above make it ...

I will start by saying that I wanted to love this camera, but it is just not possible. The people who tell you that they "LOVE" this camera are just trying to make themselves feel better for wasting their money on this over priced inferior camera. This camera simply does not live up to the price tag it carries. Outside of the 8x optical zoom, which is great, there is absolutely no reason why any sane person would spend this kind of money for this camera. The Canon Powershot G3 is $500 less ...

I am very disappointed with this camera and Nikon Service. The camera broke after 4 uses and has been in the shop for 9 days now. A 4 day turnaround on emails and extrememly long wait times on the phone are totally unacceptable. The few times that I used the camera before it fell apart, I found that the slow autofocus makes this camera next to uslesess for anything other than portrait/still shots. And in low light situations, forget about it. The camera chugs away trying hopelessly to focus. ...

This camera is absolutely useless in anything but bright sunlight. Even inside with decent lighting, the autofocus on this camera is poor. Low light autofocus is impossible. Not difficult, *IMPOSSIBLE*. Nikon has got a lot of nerve charging what they do for this camera when it performs so poorly. The camera is built well, has nice features, and does take very sharp pictures (when you can get the focus to work), however I am bringing it back in exchange for a Coolpix 4500. The autofocus ...

This comera promises to offer all the features that are on professional grade digital SLRs. Unfortunately, it falls way short of rivaling the speed and ease of use of a high-end Nikon or Canon. There is a very high learning curve to mastering the complicated menus. The camera is too slow in focusing so forget photographing anything faster than a senior softball game or a turtle race. The camera is too small and too light. You cannot feel for controls because the buttons are too small and ...

This is my 7th Digital Camera, I'll have to say it's not my best one ( Compare to Sony 707 ) but also not my worst either. Color balance is great but Image quality is Okay ( not as sharp as Sony 707). Edit 9/7/2002 : This Cam Hangs twice for the past 2 weeks. I call up Nikon and they said the PCB board replacement can solve my problem, But it will take 2 weeks to get it back.. Watch out if you're buying this one !!!! Problems: 1. Purple/Blue/Red pixels will appear on a hight contrast ...

I'm surprised by how light the camera is. It feels a little too plasticky for a $1,200 camera, but fits well on my hand and I also like the rubberized grip. If you factor-in the price of the camera, image quality is so-so and color is a little redish. Some people call it true color(?), I call it muddy. Likes: Nice ergonomics Zoom range Zoom button location Weight (light for its' size) EVW Dislikes: Image quality Focusing Battery life Buttons on the barrel Swivel LCD panel (too small) Color ...
