Electronic viewfinder is crap, poor autofocus. The image in the viewfinder is horrible, especially to someone who doesn't have perfect vision. The picture you see is all noisy and grainy and its hard to tell if it is even in focus. Very slow to focus, sometimes downright impossible. The review in the lcd monitor is so small its hard to tell if your picture is good or not. I have thought i had beautiful pictures until i downloaded them on my computer and to my dissapointment they were all ...

I have shot more than 10,000 pictures and I must say not I don't get a lot of keepers due to the slow focusing lens... It works really great in sunny conditions but even so I'm never quite pleased with the blue skys it produces. The traces of reddish spots mixing with the blues are sometimes so noticeable I can't help but feel disgusted when my friend's Olympus 350 could produce better skies instead. The four control buttons at the left side should be recessed as I frequently press them by ...

I have made 6000 fotos, and its still doing very well. The use off whitebalans is very good, manual setting of whitebalans is recommanded. I've made many pictures with flash,i use the 80 DX,the images are very good. Problems: No prpblems.

A very capable camera. Very well made and light compared to the competition. Tons of features. Problems: AF speed and low light performance, just like everybody else says, but I have adapted.

Great Camera, a few issues as pointed out by 90% of the other readers! I've owned this camera now for 5 months and have taken well over 3000 photos. I'm very happy with most of the camera's functions and workings. The 5700 has excellent image quality for what it is. That is, it's not a professional SLR and can not be used as one. It is also not a 'point and click' model either and you need to know what you're doing with it if you want to get the full potential in image quality. You need to ...

Excellent camera in everything except the problems. Problems: Pop-up flash is very, very badly designed piece of garbage. Guaranteed to fail withing 3 years. Service extremely slow and may not resolve problems. Low light focus is horrible. Camera unusable in low light.

The 5700 is NOT a point and shoot, though it can be used in automatic "programmed control." The features and controls the 5700 makes available gives the end user all but total control. End user should be interested in photography as well as taking pictures. Problems: No problems encountered. The Nikon Talk Forum is an excellent way to learn fast from experts.

Bought this camera 6 months ago and it is an awesome camera. Sure there are problems (see below), but hey nothing in this world is perfect. I know people have been say that the batteries don't last too long, well mine lasts about 100-150 shots. But than again that is on the after market batteries. If it doesn't last long, buy a few extras. Go to ebay and get the after market ones for 5 -15 dollars and it's also much higher capacity than the OEM batteries. The pictures I take are sharp and ...

Excellent camera. I researched a lot and settled on this one. A lot of people have complaints about any camera but I think it is because they expect perfection for no money. No digital camera is perfect and something is going to bug you. But when you see the results...a beautiful picture...everything else is immaterial. I print 81/2 by 11. After all it is the results you want. I love the ability to have total control over how I want to shoot the picture. Problems: Does focus slow ...
