Leica TL2 Q&As

I've been wanting a Leica for a while but the entry prices have been way to high. I recently found a used (very good condition, nearly mint) CL (for $1700) and TL2 (for $1200). As I understand both cameras are discontinued so I'm wondering if it's safe to buy (either the CL or TL2). I am worried about the warranty, if the camera exhibits issues 2/3 years down the line will they still provide me with support (hardware/software)?  Additionally is $1700 for a near mint CL a good price or it...

I am in the process of setting up my new (used) TL2 and suddenly in camera mode it is frozen, ie the screen is does not display the intended subject and when set to Apeture priority the f stop and shutter speed info on the top of the screen reads red insufficient light) even tho I have the camera pointed at a bright subject (a lamp).   Even though I can't see the subject on the screen, when I activate the shutter the camera takes the picture and I can then play back the out of focus picture. ...

Hello everyone, I recently bought a sigma FP and I am still learning my way around it while trying to understand full frame cameras. I have a few nikon DX lenses including a nikon AF-S DX 18-300mm f3.5-5.6 lens from my prior ownership of a nikon D7000; I am curious about using them with the sigma FP; if I adapted the 18-300mm to the sigma, would I get a 36-600mm full frame equivalent lens? Hi, I wonder if anyone knows if there is an exposure preview deactivation option on TL2? I understand that it is avaliable on CL and SL which allows the LCD screen or EVF to remain bright enough for framing and focusing when a non Leica ttl flash is attached. Many Thanks. Kind Regards, Gil

Sigma Fp stopped working  when I put M lens with Metabones adapter  LM to L. Just black screen and no one button works . No picture...When I put back Sigma lens -Fp works normal. I put  the same M lens  with adapter back on  Leica TL2 and it works. Everything worked  fine two  days ago with the  same adapter on Sigma Fp. Adapter for Pentax lens  to L  worked , too . What is the problem ?

Hi all I have been out of the photography scene for a bit....but my creative juices are flowing again. I still have my nikon lenses,24-70, 70-200, 14mm, 28mm, 50mm. I have an old d90 and D300. But I am looking to move to a bit more up to date. I have always loved Leica film cameras. I have thought about the TL2, Q Series, or M Series. Any thoughts as why not to go this route and look at a more up to date Nikon? Thanks, JJ

I have the pdf file of the English manual for the TL2 dated sometime in 2017 (I think). Newer firmware has changed some of the functions especially in regard to the two control wheels. The notes of F/W 1.4 say that the left wheel can be used for exposure compensation during video recording but my manual doesn't reflect that. So, how does one get an up-to-date (F/W 1.4 or later) English manual for the TL2? Dan

My apologies if this has been answered before but I searched this forum and coudn't find the answer. Basically, is it possible to use zone focusing on a CL/TL2 with a TL lens? Would it be possible if I used an M lens + adapter with the distance markings on the lens? Thanks for your time and help. Dan

Hi, I have no experience in video shooting, so I'm asking a few basic questions. I would like to do a 3 minute video (basically turning the pages of a book on a desktop). Is there a consumer daylight bulb available that represents true daylight (eliminating color cast)? I will be using a Leica TL2 with a 50mm Summicron for the job. What would be the best exposure and shutter speed to use? Thanks so much for the advice:) Aaron

I already own the Leica TL2 and zoom lenses. Originally budgeted for the Fuji 50R, but decided to wait for the Panasonic.  Should I go for the 24mp or 47mp? I only print up to 13 by 19 in. But iI plan to use my Leica lenses,  TL, R and M. Your inputs much appreciated.
