Its 7-inch screen arguably places the MediaPad X2 it into tablet territory but the device also features full calling capability and comes with a 13MP rear camera, making it fully usable as a phone. In terms of design, proportions and materials it is very close to the 6-inch Ascend Mate 7 and its metal body, just a little larger. Under the hood the new model is powered by Huawei's own 2.0GHz Kirin 930 ultra-octa chipset and Android 5.0. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage but a Pro version that offers 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage is available as well.

The 7-inch display has a 1980 x 1200 pixel resolution and the 5000mAh battery should provide plenty of power. The rear camera captures images at a 13MP resolution and at the front there is a 5MP unit for video chats and selfies. Unfortunately, there is no optical image stabilization. The standard version is available in titanium silver, the Pro version in rose gold.
