Long time lurker, this is my first post and I'd really welcome some advice. I purchased an RP "used-acceptable" at a price more than 30% below its current RRP. It looks brand new and feels like a bit of a bargain, but... When it arrived it had no body cap on it and the sensor was exposed such that it was covered in dust - see sky pic. Bit frustrating as the body cap was in the packaging, presumably whoever had ordered it previously just hadn't put it back on. It's a great camera and I'm...

I brought my brand new Canon EOS RP on a hike and set up the GPS tracking functionality according to the user guide, meaning I had Bluetooth (BLE) activated such that the iPhone provides the GPS data when taking a photo with the RP (RAW only). While I think the following icons/ system settings indicate that this was working, I am struggling to see the geo-location in my iOS photo app after importing the photos: 1) RP shows a Bluetooth and GPS icon on the screen when taking a photo 2) When...
Hey there, I've recently made some major upgrades to my kit from a rebel t6 and kit lens to an EOS RP, 24-240mm, and 430ex II. While this upgrade has substantially increased my photo quality I am now ready to get into using my speedlite for some fill flash for outdoor photography. Currently, Ive pretty much got indoor flash down, effective bouncing, etc. Been messing with manual mode too instead of ETTL to get a more even lighting profile. However, I do A lot of outdoor photography, both...

I have earlier asked the question on this forum about the dimness of the LiveView of the 6D for using astrophotography on lower f/ratios (f/5.6 or dimmer, such as a telescope prime focus). The brightness of the LV screen does not increase when cranking up the ISO (even to ISO 25K) which is confirmed by other forum members. But I did not get an answer about how the R(P) perform in this sense. I consider purchase of an R or RP, but want to be sure the live view is much brighter than the 6D in...

Hi, After recently asking about an upgrade to my M5 and Thanks for all who gave advise. A question came up regarding the effects of using the EF adapter I guess it would be similar on both the M and RP. What should one take into consideration when using the adapter? Thanks again speed.
Hi All, I have a M5 which I think the PQ is great especially through a 70-300L lens I bought a few years back and have never regretted it!My wife has an sx50 which after seeing the quality and better usability of the M5 is now disappointed with it. So my question is :- I having been looking at the RP and 24-105l bundle so she can use the M5 possibly for now with a 55-250 then look at a better lens when funds allow! So is the RP a necessary good upgrade? I don’t have lots of money to use, But...

Does anybody know if Adobe will support the new EOS R5 with camera matching profiles for their Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw applications? I know the R has camera matching profiles, but the RP does not (just like the M6 mkII or 90D don't have camera matching profiles). If they will not be available does someone perhaps know a way how to create own camera matching profiles based on SOOC JPG files?
Hi there!Primarily aiming this question at present or past 135mm f2l users, although feel free to chip in..Basically I'm an enthusiast shooting friends and family and seeking to achieve improved separation between the subjects and the background (mainly head&shoulders, occasionally waist-up).Out of the full-frame lenses I own, in my view I've had good results in this area with all of them: 35mm f/2 IS (full body), 50mm STM (waist-up), 85mm 1.8 (h&s), 100mm 2.8 macro (non-L: waist-up, h&s) and...

I want to use my RP with the EF-S 18-135 nano USM for filming but I simply can't get the powerzoom working with bluetooth remote (Canon BR-E1). Is there any trick? I tried the same configuration with EOS 77D and everything worked. The powerzoom itself works with my RP and the bluetooth remote does also start movie recording. But no reaction when pressing zoom buttons on the remote with my RP. Any suggestions why it works with 77D and not with RP? Has anybody else tried this combination?
