I have a Canon USB cable from another Canon camera. I am hesitant to try to plug it into my M50. I have had a cell phone connector ruin. Don't want to mess up my new M50. Are all Canon USB cables the same if the plug size looks the same as the receiver on the camera?.Thanks, Dan --Christian Amateur PhotographerChoose life's involvements carefully with an eye toward eternity.

After Market Batteries for the M50 ?.I bought 1 extra Canon brand battery when I bought the M50. It was about $50. I would like to purchase another battery of a different not so expensive brand. In past years I have used other brands, but am cautious about cheaper ones ruining my new M50 camera. I know people have used after market batteries successfully without damaging their cameras and I have as well..If anyone would name some that they have had good experience with, it would be...

I'm either not searching with the right words, or support for .CR3 from Canon camera's like the M50 (that I have) doesn't exist for any RAW editor on Linux (using Ubuntu). RawTherapee, GIMP, Darktable, none supports the relatively new .CR3 format from Canon. I currently have a Windows 10 in Virtualbox with only *one* purpose, namely, to run Canon's DPP. Is there no CR3 support on any RAW Editor that runs on Linux? Please enlighten me.

I did a dumb thing while travelling with my new canon M50. I tried to save battery life by turning off the LCD screen and now it is permanently off. I can still take pictures but I can’t see the menu, I can’t review photos, just completely off. I cant remember the exact steps I took in the menu selection to do this but I think I chose an option at one point to have the screen off. Please help if you know what I’m talking about! I wonder if there’s a way to reset to factory settings without...

I want to upgrade my mom's camera.  She's not a pro or an enthusiast and doesn't know what the word aperture means.   She's shooting with an FZ200 right now and its getting a little long in the tooth and she has issues with it.  First and foremost its difficult to take a photo with it and immediately text or email that photo to family/friends.  She wishes it had a touchscreen to focus, change settings and chimp.  She also complains that a photo looks fuzzy or blurry inside her house.  I'll...

Hello on the lens page description it says Dynamic IS for smooth movies Camera shake is not a problem when shooting movies handheld or if you’re walking to follow the action. The EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM uses Dynamic Image Stabilization in movie mode to counteract rolling motion as well as shake to ensure smooth footage. https://www.canon.co.uk/lenses/ef-m-18-55mm-f-3-5-5-6-is-stm-lens/ is it a special IS feature for video or is it the same as for the other IS lens ?As someone tried it...

Many cameras have a sensor crop "zoom" (the camera uses only a portion of the sensor to narrow the field of view, resulting in lower megapixel count but no resampling or interpolation and therefore no loss of image quality).  Panasonic calls this "Extra Optical Zoom"; other makers use other terminology. Can't find anything about this in the manual.  Does the M50 have it? Thanks in advance for any information.

Are there any f2.8 or f2.0 lenses for the M50. I am used to using 2.8 and 2.0 settings on two compact cameras. I wonder if there are any lenses for the M50 in the 2.8 or 2.0 range. I also need it to be 50 to 100mm focal length for use from a balcony inside our church. Any help will be appreciated, Dan  --Christian Amateur PhotographerChoose life's involvements carefully with an eye toward eternity.

I have my original FD 1.8 and 1.4 lenses. I have the Fotga FD-EOSM adapter. I mounted both on my M50.  There is no response when I push the Shutter button. Is this more likely a software setting problem or a lens mounting problem ?   (I didn't see the issue addressed before.)  Thank you for taking the time to respond.    -Dizzy G
