I noticed that quite a few folks on the forums have had luck powering their EOS R through USB - C. I unfortunately have had 0 luck with my PD2.0 chargers and battery banks. Does anyone know which PD profiles are supported by the EOS R? Has anyone used a USB C multi-meter to see what is being sent to the EOS R?
I'm trying to find out if anyone has used an m42 mount lens on the EOS R, using the EF to R mount adapter that you can get with the camera. I was trying to use a chipped m42 to EF adapter, which works on my canon T6S with no issues, and lets the camera know that there is a lens on it. When I try to use this with the EOS R the camera turns off and on and can not be used... I have been able to use my old m42 lenses with an adapter with no chip, but some of the manual focusing systems don't work...
I have Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III. I love point shoot cams because it is easy to use. I am panning to change my way to Canon EOS R :) I have no idea how to create a set. I took school kids photos and swimming and football and indoor events etc. I like action pics. I will need adopter also :) Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R Canon Drop-in Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R :-)As a lens I like : Canon - EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM Canon - EF 28–300mm...
Is there a way when looking through the viewfinder to switch the face it is focusing on? I love that it finds faces well. I just want to be able to switch to other faces quickly. Right now, to try to get it to switch faces, I try to move the camera so that person is more in the center but that is very hit and miss particularly when the subject I am trying to get is back behind other subjects with faces exposed.
Hi, Continuing my experimentation with the EOS R I stumbled upon what seems to be a fault in the EVF of the EOS R series. The EOS R EVF seems to have a kind of second screen inside that reflects in reverse whatever it is displaying. The issue is that when you shoot with a bright source in the frame the effect becomes more obvious as it will reflect on any dark area. I took some pictures to illustrate the phenomenon. It's the first time I am seeing this kind of...
Hi, I am not very experienced with Canon and so far I had to ordered 3 EOS R to finally get 1 without issues. Let’s say that this bad experiences with Canon are making me reconsider my choice. My experience: + The first EOS R received had a misaligned EVF displaying a red light bar at the bottom edge of the EVF. It was kind of distracting framing with the EVF. We currently have a Canon 6D. Our most common use of the camera is bringing it with us on vacations, and hiking. Even our vacations are heavy on hiking. We're also always careful to pack lightweight, as we will travel from place to place. We often use the 24-70 2.4L lens as the main carry. I think I am optimizing for: Weight/size, IQ, and dynamic range. I think weight/size makes sense & is clear, because of vacations & hiking. Awfully nice if we can drop a gram or two. When we finish our...
