This has happened to me before, but I can't remember how to fix it. In manual mode on my Canon 7D: the main dial is operating both the AV & TV functions at the same time to balance, while my rear dial is operating my ISO. I have tried to reset, but it's not helping. Please help! This is getting ridiculous....

A while ago I had the focus on my 7D mk11 checked at canon. They also calibrated a lens with the body. I was wondering if anyone knows how or what they do to calibrate the lens to the body. Is it done by physically adjusting something or some sort of electronic adjustment as you would MFA. It did not show up as being adjusted on MFA and they did say all stored MFA adjust that I had done would now be void.

I have no doubt this question has been asked time and time again but.. When do I know it's time to upgrade? I bought my 7D back in 2010 as a graduation present to myself (after saving for a DSLR practically my entire life) and I'm having such a hard time deciding if it's the right move to upgrade. I'm not a professional per say but I like to think I'm a knowledgeable enthusiast who dabbles in the professional world from time to time. My husband and I are expecting our first child this October...

Hi. I read this forum a lot, first post... I shoot with a 7d mkii and completely love it. I'm not a pro and can't justify a FF body (the 6D doesn't do it for me at all). I'm increasingly interested in street photography, which usually uses a 35mm. There's a very specific feel I'm looking for, and I really want that 35mm look. Wide, but still normal. My main lens is the Canon 28mm f1.8, lovely for people, but the space is just a little flat. I shot with the Rokinon 16mm f2.0, wonderful but ......

Hi, Can anyone tell me if I have altered something in my settings, my image burst has went from about 18-19 to 4 when in high speed mode. One thing I have done was after downloading my images I deleted the images and then deleted two files on my card.I can't see this being the problem though. As I take sport photographs (football and karting)  I really need a high image burst. Both the lenses I have are the same, 24-70 2.8 Tamron and a Canon 70-200 2.8 ,so this does away with lens...

Hello, I am considering purchasing a 5D mark iv.  I currently own a 7D (original) and I'm pretty happy with it, except for the bain of my existence which is the inability to use my 70-200 f2.8 due to the crop factor.  I am not even close to a pro. More of the occasional enthusiast. I really enjoy photography but have little time, knowledge and I guess interest in post production.  My photography is primarily family (my 2 toddlers) and travel landscapes. Can't really find comparisons between...

Hello, I have a 7d that I bought years ago to take photos of my kids.  Unfortunately I haven't really had the time to learn how to use it to produce consistently good photos.  I'm able to take great photos of my children sleeping but it seems that the majority of time my spontaneous portraits are completely out of focus or the point of focus is not what I'd like.  For example, a photo of my two boys side by side will often come out with only one child in focus or a quick spontaneous portrait...

Warm greetings to all the nice people on this forum. I am learning photography using my Canon 7D. I tried to take a picture of a Kingfisher bird using my 70-200mm lens but iI am disappointed that the bird is not in sharp focus. Could you please help me understand where I have gone wrong. At first I thought that maybe I have composed the shot with the focus point set on the wood column on which the bird is sitting. But after having the seen the photo again with "show autofocus points" turned...

Hi everyone, I just bought a camera on ebay, the seller said he did a lot of videos with the camera, canon 7D.  The last photo I took had 4871 in its file name, i suppose the shutter count should be 4871, but I used eoscount website and paid 1.79 dollars to check the shutter count and it showed the shutter count was 2916.   Why are the two numbers at odds?  Thank you for taking your time to read this.  Thanks Alan

Hi all, I do mainly landscape photography, and I often take test shots in Av mode, then move to Manual or Bulb if I'm going to use my shutter release cable.  What I'm wondering is, is there any way (on a 5D IV or 7D II) to switch from Av mode to Manual or Bulb and have it retain the aperture and ISO (I suppose the shutter speed depends on the last meter reading)?  It's not particularly hard to remember those settings, and I could just look at my test shot to see what I used, but it seems like...
