Hey everyone, I have two batteries for my 7D and both of them trigger the "unable to communicate with battery" error when I put a charged battery in the camera. I did some searching and found the YouTube video "Canon 7D "cannot communicate with battery" error Online Repair it yourself" which shows a loose/dropped screw can cause this issue. I opened up my camera and the screw was a-OK already. So I have reassembled the camera and the issue persists. Typically, I don't turn off the camera via...

Heya, Have been shooting birds with a 7D + 400 5,6 for a while and have been fairly happy with the combo. It needs sunshine to shine. Am using M since I want to control both aperture and shutter speed. ISO at auto since exposure conditions can vary a bit. The 7D tends to overexpose bright areas of birds (in its defence many are black and white) and if I set it to Av with an exposure comp of -1EV it is much more likely to expose perfectly (doesn't clip highlights anymore). The shutter speed...

I, I'm an advanced italian amateur photographer. I've just sold my good 7D, as recently I was using it less and less because of the "weight", but I kept a list of EFS and EF fixed and zoom lenses (about 8 lenses) Now I'm using my compact G16, wich is very good but it lacks dynamic range and low iso performance, because of it small sensor (compared to APC) I'm planning to keep my G16 for walk around photos, and to buy again a new canon reflex or... mirrorless, particularly to re-use my list of...

I am purchasing a 7D MII, and it has 65 focusing points, but with my 40D, which I've had since 2007 and it has only nine focusing points, I found myself always just using the center focus point, whether shooting stills or action.  Shooting birds in flight or sports action, it seems best to focus right on the spot I most want in focus. Am I missing something by not using the multiple points? Apparently, since the number of points keeps increasing with each newer model.

Hello, I'm sorry to start with yet another question about 80d vs 6d but... here I go. I want to upgrade my 550d (that I need to fix since I kinda broke it...) and I'm looking mainly for IQ and sharpness/focus. I read many threads/reviews about the 80d, 6d and 7d mk II but there's one thing I haven't found that much and is related to the sharpness/focus of an image. I know the 80d is a more versatile camera, but based on the image comparisons I found, the 6d always have the sharpest images...

I own a 7D mark2 and I'm thinking about purchasing a Canon 1.4X III teleconverter to use with my Canon 100-400mm II lens. I'm curious to know if I'd be able to achieve auto focus with this combination. Also...what camera mode is best to use with the teleconverter, i.e.---manual setting vs. aperture priority or shutter priority?  Thank you in advance! :-)  Robin

I ask this because I just ordered the 7D MII, and I have a Canon charger with my 40D, that holds two batteries, which is convenient for overnight charging. I don't want to ruin new LP-E6 batteries with an incompatible charger.

A month or so back I rented a 7D2 w/ a 100-400 II to shoot a friends Aussie rules soccer game. This is pretty far out of my normal comfort zone, so I put the lens on my monopod, turned on IS, set the camera to 1/1250 and sort of just went for it. Got some great shots, but on some of them I'm noticing an odd sort of double image blur and I'm curious what to look out for next time. I'm assuming it's just straight up camera shake (even at 1/1250?) as I'm not used to dealing with lenses this...

I am trying to take photos at about every 30 secs - 2 mins. I was using a canon t3i for this but after a few weeks, my shutter gave up. This is an on-going process and I will need to continue taking the timelapse. I wanted to know the most economical camera to get more clicks for the price (lowest price per photo clicked). I also need the following features: - Manual focus - Multiple exposures for HDR - Auto shutter speed - Atleast 15 MP I was wondering if it would be better to buy a high...
