I am new to the forum, so please excuse me if I am not asking this in the right place. I am shooting video with a 7D Mark II, and would like to add a hot shoe type monitor to the camera for shooting outside of the studio. What are your preferences for durability, battery life, and price?
I bought this Nikon AF 300mm f/4 lens to use on my EM10, and it's proven to be a sharp enough, hand-holdable, easily focused super-telephoto lens. I'm getting a real-world shutter speed improvement of at worst two stops (often more) compared to my un-stabilized 400mm f/5.6 L + 7D combo. I have read a lot of... somewhat gushing reviews about this lens. It does have very nice build quality. And I understand that this is not a modern telephoto lens. Like with most of my MF Nikkors, contrast...

Hello,First of all I'd like to say that I am very glad I found this community. I am in the market for a camera for taking mostly modeling photos which will be mostly outdoors. I am fairly new and this will be my first camera to learn, but I am a very quick learner, so I do not want my inexperience to influence your advice. What I would like to know is which camera is the best for my needs. My total budget for the camera and lens/lenses is 2500$I will barely be focused on taking videos. So as...
Just wondering what sort of distance you would expect to get good shots out of the 500 f4 is Mk1 version on a 7d Mk2 on smallish birds say duck or lapwing size. I have seen talk of sharp BIF shots at 150-200 feet. I seem to get good sharp shots with or without 1.4 converter but only up to about 50 feet.

I've got some older L glass - 24-105L and 100-400L, both Mk 1, which belonged to my late father. They don't get used too hard and seem to be working fine for now, though I might get the 24-105 serviced soon. There's an auction coming up in the UK with a couple of bits of older Canon kit for sale - one lot is a 7D bundled up with an 85 f1.8 and a 430 EX, whilst the other lot is a 70-200L f2.8 IS Mk I. I called up a Canon Service Centre to check the price of servicing this kit if I bought it,...
Hi, I am currently using the EOS 7D (APS Crop) and want to upgrade my lens to the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM - However, I am also looking to buy the EOS Mark iii with FF sensor Will I be able to use the lens with both? I need the lens now and will need to wait a few months to ugrade the body but don't want to spend 6000 dirhams on a new lens that won't work when I buy the 6000dhs body in a few months. Thanks KT
Hi everyone, I have a entry level Canon (rebel series) and I am looking to upgrade and also potentially move to a full frame camera. If I move to a full frame camera, I will need to replace my main lenses...which opens up the possibility of also switching camera systems. If I upgraded within the Canon family, it would likely be to the 6D. I don't know much about Nikon, but the D750 or perhaps the D810 look like the type of camera I am looking for. When I talk to Canon people, they of...
