Hey! I am Ahmad Shokr and this is my first post on this forum altho I did use dpreviews several times before for camera knowledge! *spoiler alert* (considerable newbiness ahead) the backstory: so first of I had point and shoot, then FZ1000 which got stolen last year, now I find the "need" to get a new camera, a trusty friend of mine suggested D5600 for me as a step up but not too much of a leap and also not too pricey. (good suggestions since money is tight and getting tighter) I was looking...

I find with my Sigma 150-600 C and Canon 77D, I consistently get a small but noticeable front-focus when using the viewfinder AF. (Live view DPAF is perfect.) If I use the Sigma dock to adjust lens focus, should this affect the viewfinder AF, or both? (I did some experiments which seemed to make DPAF worse while failing to affect viewfinder AF at all, so I thought I’d ask what should happen.) The lens focuses properly on my other camera body, a 6D Mark II, so I had the crazy idea of using the...

So I shoot birds mostly, and have been using the Tamron 100-400mm F/4.5-6.3 on a Canon 77D (crop sensor). I find myself shooting mostly at the long end and was thinking about an upgrade, originally to one of the Sigma or Tamron 150-600mm lenses. But upon doing some research, I'm actually leaning towards the Canon 400mm F/5.6, which seems to receive a ton of praise. I like the simplicity of prime lenses, and multiple sources claim that this lens gets sharper images at 400 and cropped, than the...

Recently I bought Canon 77D with the kit lens and I am not very happy with it. I want to buy 50 mm prime lens. Which one would you recommend. My budget is around 150$. Also I don't mind old vintage lenses? For example Zuiko 50mm f/1.4 or Asashi Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4. Are they any good?

Greetings! My wife and I have been getting into photography and have thoroughly enjoyed taking photographs of birds in the area.  We are getting excellent shots of stationary birds, but are struggling to get sharp, in focus photos of birds in flight, especially when they are level with us.  Shooting up into the sky with a larger bird like a hawk is simple and come out fine, but if I am trying to capture a bluebird level with me, the shots are not coming out in focus.  We may get a small part...

I have a Canon 400D that has seen intermittent but enthusiastic use over the last 12 years or so. The lenses I use with it are a Canon EF-S 60mm f2.8 and a Canon EF-S 10-22mm, so by my pocket they are half decent lenses. I bought them new and they have been very well looked after. Coming back to them after a while, I'm finding the auto focus is slow and hunts quite a bit, especially with the 60mm lens, and also the images are a little soft too, even when I get the confirmation beep and red...

Hello there. I have a Tamron 1.4x teleconverter (TC) that I used back in San Francisco during America's Cup (2011-2013) with some success, then with a 7D. I used that with a 100-400 L IS and in later in 2013 with the same 7D with a Tamron 150-600. Soon after the America's Cup ended, the TC refused to cooperate with cameras where it previously functioned [almost] fine. I would always get the dreaded err 1 error message: communications between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens...

Hey i just saw a video on YouTube for Canon 80D and wanted to know if that's the problem i been having with my Rode VideoMicro on the Canon 77D.
