I might be tackling too much on at once as a newbie. Im not looking to capture planets at this point but maybe a star filled sky with a car on the ground in the shot. Im starting to attempt star photography in my free but im not sure if my equipment is right? Canon 70D (magic lantern on it) Tripod Sigma 17-50 F2.8 Prime 50 1.8 Kit 75-300mm I live in CT in the Naugatuck area, there is a ton of light pollution but have to start researching some better locations with less light. I started this...

I am worried sick about the error. As my warranty just expired few weeks back and there seems to no other option besides sending it back to Canon. After reading many articles online, I decided to write this post down. My camera got the error 80 when I switched to Video Mode. No display. Top panel shows empty parentheses for memory card (no light blinks even when card is removed/inserted) with error appearing in seconds. I had inserted a fully charged battery (everything from battery to lens...

After I got convinced that an extender is not a good option to achieve longer range with my Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM for wildlife phtography, I started to check other long zoom lenses to do that. The options on the table (cost wise) are: 1. Sigma EX 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3 APO HSM 2. Sigma 150-500mm APO DG OS HSM 3. Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary 4. Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5.0-6.3 Di SP VC USD I've spend the whole wekeend reading in forums and lab reviews (DXOMark do a...

Hi, I have a Canon 24-70mm 2.8 with a Canon 70D body. When I zoom all the way out to 24mm, it won't auto focus unless its like a macro shot and I am focusing on something very close. So anything else that is more than 2ft away from the camera, it won't focus on.  If I turn it literally 1mm to the right, it auto focuses just fine... I was wondering why? Is that just the way it is, or is it broken? Any help would be much appreciated!

I  want to upgrade my camera from my present 700D.  I do a lot of travel photography, family holiday photos, running photography and indoor photography (some in low light). Which of the above cameras would you recommend and would the 18-135 STM or USM lens be a good lens to take with me?  I have always been a Canon user.  Portability is not essential though I have thought of going back to a small camera. Any advice would be welocomed. Thank you.

I fell with my 700D and 18-135STM lens, which hit the floor with a light bump. A few day later I noticed that I had to depress the shutter button harder for it to engage. Eventually, it packed up with an 'error 20' message coming up. I switched the camera off, replaced the battery a number of times but nothing changed. I was told that to repair the situation would cost me approx £120 by replacing a unit in the camera. Has anyone got any other advice on what I can do because I think I would...

Hi all I can't get my 70D to focus when videoing using live view. If I take a picture in  Live view focus is fine when I half press the shutter, but no matter which of the three focus options I select for video it will not automatically focus before or during videoing . I can force it to focus by pressing the AF-ON button, but it won't hold focus if the distance changes (though still recognises and follows out of focus faces). I'm sure I'm doing something stupid.   I've tried this with a...

While I love the size and simplicity of the DJI OSMO, and the 3-axis gimbal, the camera itself doesn't really suit my needs. I shoot product videos; instructional videos, interviews and its flat depth of field, wide field of view, minimum focus distance of over a meter, and fisheye distortion up close aren't doing the trick for me.The overall quality of the video at 1080p / 24fps is sub-par in my opinion as well. Especially when edited together with my Canon 70D footage. I'm looking for a...

I accidentally somehow shot a few shoots in sRAW!? Client wants to print some of the images but not sure how to upscale or if possible? Know nothing about sRAW apart form the fact that they are much smaller files and not for printing. Photos taken in sRAW on a Canon 70D Am I wasting my time trying to find a way to do this? Has anyone done this successfully? I tried using trial of ON1 software to enlarge but I don't think it looked very good. Thankfully I used two cameras on these shoots so...
