Long-time fan of DPReview and its great forums, but just now had a reason to post.  My 70D recently suffered a short fall (about a foot) into a cooler with about an inch or two of water in it. The camera fell back-side down. I retrieved it pretty quickly, shook it out, and turned it on to see if it was okay. (I know, I know -- bad move. But I was on a dark school bus at the time and didn't realize that it was exposed to that much water.) It did not turn on. The next morning, I tried it again,...

Picked a refurb up from Canon, just got it yesterday. I am kind of surprised at the amount of noise above 800 ISO, compared to my old 70D. Any hints as to what I might be doing wrong or a setting I might need to tweak? I shoot in raw, always in M. But I sure am loving the snappy focus...and the dynamic ranges is spectacular! Pulling those shadows out is really an amazing change over the 70D. Thanks for any help!

Given that the M5 has a dedicated exposure compensation dial, does anyone know if it does EC when shooting in Manual mode with Auto ISO? I briefly RTFM but didn't find an answer. This is a feature that I've occasionally wished for on my 70D and 6D. The 80D, 7D2, 5D4, 1DX, and 1DX2 got it, and I'm hoping the M5 did as well. Thanks!

Hi there, I am having issues with my 70d when taking photos through the viewfinder. No matter what mode I am in the ISO is always 100 even when set to auto. All photos are coming out under exposed and most are just black. If I switch to take photos using the back screen the ISO is fine. I've looked through all settings but can't find anything that would lock it at 100. I have reset the camera settings but this has not resolved the fault. I'm wondering if a sensor is not working correctly on...

Hi, I'm debating between the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM and the Canon 17-55 F2.8 IS USM for my Canon 70D. I'm leaning heavily towards the Sigma, mainly because of the price, $369 for the Sigma vs $799 for the Canon. These days, I mainly take pics of my kids, indoors, using an external flash. I read in one user review that that the "lens has AF issues with external flash in low light when assist beam is activated," which sounds like my shooting conditions a lot of the time. Does anyone...

Hello everyone, hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I use a Canon 70D and a 400mm 5.6 setup and looking to get a Tamron 150-600 G2. I've never had /used a tripod before but would like to get one and would like some advice please. I'd like to stay around $300 if possible. I do 99% bird and wildlife shooting. I understand the Tamron G2 comes with an Arca Swiss mount. Thank you Bob

Hello all, I am new to photography and videography and plan to dive into the field soon, but I am stuck on what road to take in regards to what camera to buy. I plan to make more video than photography, but I want to pursue both with an open mind. I have watched videos, read reviews, and have compared the specs but I do not know what to do.  With that being said, I wanted to ask some people with experience. The Canon 70D is cheaper and would allow me to buy "better" quality lenses but would...

Next year I'll be going on a beach trip with my girlfriend on a relatively remote area. Actually I have Canon 70D and its standard lens. But sometimes, I feel it is a bit too bulky so I want to have a compact one. We plan on doing snorkeling and strolling around the beach mostly. I am looking for a waterproof camera for a shallow water snorkeling with decent "normal scene" quality for instance, when we walk around the beach or small village. One of the candidate is Nikon AW130 but I worry...

I am thinking of buying a Fujifilm Instax Share SP2. From what I read, it can connect directly with Fujifilm X-cameras easily through Wi-Fi connection. I wonder if it is usable with 70D? I am aware that transferring the image to my phone through Camera Connect and sending it by instax share smartphone app is possible. To be precise, is one step printing feasible? Besides, anyone here using any portable printer with 70D and doesn't mind to share your reviews or comments? Thanks.
