Hello guys, I am pretty new in this forums so bare with me :D So anyways, I've gotten into taking pictures of the skies, and I really wanted to take pictures of the Milky Way. Currently I have T4i and I used a wide angle lens that I borrowed from Borrowlesnes.com. I have been doing some researching of getting a full frame sensor. I was doing research on the Sony Mirror Less camera and the Canon full frame. I wanted to get Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, and Sony's Sony Alpha a7S II Mirrorless. Any...

Hi,  I am trying to do some pretty jewelry photography and I am wondering what type of lens I would need to create a shot like this? Also what is the lighting environment required to take this shot? I am a photography newbie. I own a DSLR 650D with standard kit lens only.

Good Evening, I have just purchased a new Canon EOS 80D as an upgrade from my Canon EOS 650D which i'd owned for about 5 years. I'm having an issue in regards to the auto exposure which was also a problem on the 650D. I am confident this is something easily fixable hence the reason i have decided to ask on here for support. Basically what happens is, when shooting on the Auto mode the camera seems to do a decent job of exposing the images correctly. I am a hobbyist automotive photographer and...

Hello, new to this forum here! I am a beginner photographer, and need some advice regarding which lens I should get. I currently own the Canon 650D, Canon 50mm f1.8, Tamron 70-300mm VC USD. I have been happy with both lens, but struggled to use the 50mm for group photos and general use as the lens it is too close up on my APS-C sensor. Thus I recently purchased a second hand Tamron 17-50 non VC, but have not been happy with the results I have been getting. Images are mostly not sharp...

Hey Guys,This is my first post, so apologize if this has already been asked (I couldn't find this question).A bit about me: I am in the market for a new camera since i handed my T4i to my younger brother. By looking at the available options, i've landed on two which i need help deciding between. I travel with my camera and had been mostly using it for stills but want to venture into videography.Choices: Need help choosing between T7i or 80D both with 18-135 nano USM lens.Confusion: T7i body...

In my film-using youth I used Nikon/Nikkormat and Pentax gear and loved both for different reasons. <fast-forward 40 years or so> Now in my oldth :-D I want to return to SLR shooting from point-and-shoot, and I’m considering mainly Nikon and Canon DSLRs but will consider others. In order to save money for lenses in the future I plan on buying used or refurbished, but how old a camera should I consider? For example, is a Nikon D7100 worth the price premium over a same-condition D7000? Or...

I commonly use my 430EX II Speedlite positioned off camera with my Rebel T4i. Is it possible to accomplish this same setup with the Canon M3? If not (which I assume will be the case) what other "cheap" alternatives do I have? I'd rather not have to purchase the $300 Speedlite Transmitter. Is is possible to use one of the other cheaper flashes like the 270EX II or 90EX to trigger the 430EX II? I liked that the Speedlite didn't need anything extra to run off camera with the T4i, but Should I...

Hi everyone, a buddy of mine contacted me on advice on a 70-300 style zoom lens for his Canon T4i. I am a Nikon guy so am trying to get a bit up to speed on Canon in order not to steer him down the wrong road. First question, EF-S lenses should be what he is looking at for his T4i, correct? Both of the lenses he sent me, the EF 70-300 IS II USM ($550) and EF 70-300 IS USM ($450) are both full frame lenses. Does Canon have a good EF-S in the 70-300 range for crop sensor bodies or do most use...

I must begin by apologising as, looking around, there have been quite a few threads comparing these two lenses – there are just a couple of things, though, that I haven't been able to find out and I'd be very grateful if someone with experience of the 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 lens might be able to help, please? I'd also been considering the 17-55 f/2.8.As it's such a long post (sorry), I thought I might be best to get my questions out of the way early on:• Does the 15-85 feel unbalanced on an...

To start off, I first began learning photography with a Pentax X5 (point and shoot). I used this for about a year until I eagerly bought my first entry-level camera, which was the T5i. At the time, I felt this was the best camera for me because it was within my budget and easy to use. I haven enjoyed my T5i. However, it has been a little over a year since I first bought it and within that time I have outgrown this camera and have also grown frustrated with it's limited capabilities. The...
