Hi all, question for you experts: the 5D4 is expected to have "SD / SDHC / SDXC and CompactFlash Type II" slots.  I am still shooting with an old 5D2, which only has a CF slot so I've never used SD.  How do the dual slots work?  - does everything get written to both slots?  - does writing take longer if you have a card in each slot vs only one?  - if I only use one slot, which one is better - SDXC looks way cheaper vs CF, so does CF have some advantage over SD that I'm missing? Thanks!

Dear All, How can I shoot 25FPS on my 5D Mark ii? Will I need to install Magic Lantern (I have once tried and failed unfortunately)? Thank you very much in advance!!  Best wishes, Marc

Hello my friends :) Since about 15+ years I am in the Canon camp. Currently in use is a 5D2, 6D, some L zooms and fast Sigma primes. I am not planning to give up on those. Many years back, I used to shoot film on my dad's old Contax RTS with a Zeiss 50/1.4 lens. I found it with a bit of practice really easy to nail manually the focus, even outside the micro-prism, just on the screen surface. The focus was clearly visible. Unfortunately this "easy" manual focusing changed completely with...

Sorry if this has been asked before. My EF 24-105mm f4 IS that came with my 5d2 as its "kit lens" has a 7 digit serial number on the mount of:2069503 According to RawDigger, the EXIF includes the HEX serial number of:"Lens Serial Number" 000017c6a4which is digital:1558180 Just above the entry for "Lens Serial Number" is:"Lens Info" 24-105mm f/? (odd to have the ?, and missing IS) According to a review of the 24-105 by Bryan Carnathan on TDP, there was a fix related to flare issues that might...

I recently picked up a Canon 5D mkII with low mileage and have noticed something both odd and inconvenient and am wondering if anyone here knows how I can correct this body's behavior: Shooting RAW, Images appear on playback with significantly higher contrast and somewhat lower luminance than they should. The same issue appears when reviewing the CR2 files in Canon's ZoomBrowser tool. However, when I click on a CR2 file in DxO Optics Pro, it first appears as it does on the camera in playback...

Hi There, I'm posting this here, may be it is something experienced on other brands too. For a few minutes after I power it on, the colors on my 5D m2 are off, like a color channel is missing. This shows both on the LCD in live view and in pictures as well. I already tried basic troubleshooting like changing lenses, reset the device, remove the battery, etc. Here are two pictures shot in within minutes of each other: Any thoughts will be much appreciated. Thank you

I am contributing architectural photographs which be printed litho cmyk as a coffee table book. I estimate the size of the publication to be around A3. Currently using a Nikon D7000 and Sigma 17-50 and where necessary a Tokina 12-24. I am reasonably happy with the images thus far. However on dropping in on my favourite photographic dealer I handled a Canon 5D MK II with 28-105 f3.5-4.5 attached. Very good price. Subsequently I browsed Pixelpeeper and downloaded what architectural images I...

Hello. I just purchased a 5d mark ii and I've been wanting to use some old vintage lenses for portraits. Was wondering if anyone had recommendations for some really good lenses? I do have an olympus f1.8 50mm at the moment but is there anything else you guys recommend? thanks.

Alright, so I bought a Tamron 18-270mm f3.5 lens for my Canon 5D Mark II. It appears to have a lot of black in the corners, ruining a lot of my photos. I was wondering if there is a fix for this! Thanks!

I downloaded Magic Lantern because I needed a means of checking shutter count on my two 6Ds, as well as other probable uses.  Lo, and behold, after carefully scanning the menus 3 or 4 times, I don't see any reference to "Shutter Count."  Have I overlooked something?  If so, I hope someone will tip me off as to what I need to look under. I also noted with interest that Amazon has lots of books explaining the features of ML for all kinds of camera models, including Canon, Nikon, et al, but...
