Hi, I'm hoping someone can clear this up once and for all. I am looking at this lens but everything i read tells me it's for an APS-C sensor camera. I have a 5D Mark 2 full frame which i want to use for astrophotography. Then i stumble upon this site, which contrary to what i've read, seems to be showing examples of photographer's work using an 18-35 F1.8 DC HSM/5D2 combo: https://explorecams.com/photos/pair/canon-eos-5d-mark-ii=sigma-18-35mm-f-1-8-dc-hsm Am i missing something here? I intend...
Hello all, I've agreed to do a short promo video for a local business, a simple interview, possible creative shots as well, nothing outrageous, (I was lead to believe). But, they have recently informed me that they have booked add space at our local movie theater! Being a student with a small budget, aka, no budget, I'm worried. Sound, lighting and concept I have down. But I am going to have to upgrade the Camera. Initially I looked into renting, but my rural community has nothing to...
Hi everyone, Just wanted to get some advice if possible. A few days ago I put on a new lens (Zeiss 85mm f/1.4) on my 5D Mark II using a brand new C/Y mount to EOS-M adapter. Fit on the camera and everything seemed to work fine. Took some photos. However, That was until I wanted to take the lens off the camera, for some reason it just wouldn't turn back off. I was certainly careful. However, it somehow just turns a bit and then hits a great resistance. I have not attempted to forcefully...
Hi folks, 10 years or so ago, I purchased a cheap Chinese wireless transmitter which went on my 5d2 and then a receiver was plugged into a Bowens flash system. Fast forward to now and I have tried to use this on a 5d mark 4 and no luck at all... the Bowens flash does not fire. It works with a cable, and I try the "Test" button on the transmitter, but no luck. I presume the old tech is simply not liking the 5d mark 4. So i went looking for a cannon equivalent.. thinking it will last a long...
I want to lock the focus for panos that use multiple shots. I know how to do it handheld as I simply hold the shutter to avoid refocusing or use the back focus button and hold it. But how can I do it when using I tripod? In this case I don't want to touch the camera except for initial focus and after that I use a remote canon wired to take the different shots of the pano. But with this system it refocuses each time. The standard wired cable from official canon in theory would allow also the...
Hello all,I got a used 5D Mark II body from online. The seller didn't tell me, that some screws are missing on the bottom. He said he didn't know that and it was in for cleaning (no offical Canon Shop) before he sold it.(I have the original bill of it, looks legit) But after all he gave me a reasonable discount. So my question is, does anybody know the size and kind of the bottom screws so I can order them? Thanks!
Has anyone figured out the scheduling of when Canon and Nikon trade dominance in the higher-end camera market? To me it's an obvious example of an informal keiretsu, because over and over Canon comes out with a camera that blows away Nikon (like the 5DII for instance) and then after a year or two Nikon responds with a camera that torpedoes Canon (like the D3s or the D850). Right now it's Canon's turn to release a camera that will leapfrog over the D850/D5; what I can't figure out is when...
Where I live (Malta EU) we don't get direct Sony support so usually I stick to Amazon (UK/IT/DE/FR/ES). Currently they stock the entire A7II (a7SII/A7RII) range. I'm very interested in upgrading my 5DII to either the A7RIII (although i'm reconsidering in favour of the a7iii) but there is no simple way to acquire a European model (maybe a gray import like digitalrev??). I contacted sony UK and IT but they could only recommend that i search online. I don't think they can commit to naming...
I have just purchased this camera and I cannot get the view finder focusing screen to light up red when focus is correct. I'm set up for center sq & squares immediately around the center to be focus point. My old 5d mark II the center sq would light up when camera was in focus
