Hello everyone, I have a question that I haven't really been able to find an answer for. I currently use a 5D Mark II. I skipped the 5D Mark III and waited for the 5D Mark IV. Now that it's out, I'm debating whether I should upgrade. My current camera has about 113k shutter actuations on it. My biggest worry is that one day (sometime relatively soon), it will just stop working. My question is, if I get the shutter replaced and maybe get an overhaul (if they even do such a thing at Canon),...
Let me start by saying that i do own a canon 1dx + a GPS E-1 unit + a couple batteries (LP-E4) and i am wondering whether or not to have it replaced by a 5d mark IV, while the value of the 1dx is still acceptable. I think if adding the extra batteries and the GPS unit, i might be able to get it for roughly the same price. I do mainly landscape and travel photography (cityscape), and just sporadically i shot birds, and sports, but these are a minor fraction of the pictures i take. Photography...

Hi I am excited about my new 5D Mark II. This is a bit embarrassing to ask but I was wondering if the 5D IV can trigger my two 600EX-RT flashes if they are both used as remotes. I could only get them to link/flash if I placed one flash in the 5D IV's shoe . It would then function as a master, the other remotely as slave. I do have a Phottix flash trigger but wondering if the 5D IV could take on that role. Thanks in advance! S

What do you suggest I should buy between these 2? Both come as a kit (24-105) - the 5D mark II is used and is rated 9 with less than 10K clicks (according to the owner whom I know), while the 6D kit is Open Box and is around $140 more than the 5D2. The price difference is not so much of an issue as it is not a lot - but I just need some advise on which is a smarter buy. I am a hobbyist and I used my 50D (which I had since sold) for landscape, travel, family pics, and maybe a little street...
Hi all, question for you experts: the 5D4 is expected to have "SD / SDHC / SDXC and CompactFlash Type II" slots. I am still shooting with an old 5D2, which only has a CF slot so I've never used SD. How do the dual slots work? - does everything get written to both slots? - does writing take longer if you have a card in each slot vs only one? - if I only use one slot, which one is better - SDXC looks way cheaper vs CF, so does CF have some advantage over SD that I'm missing? Thanks!
Hello my friends :) Since about 15+ years I am in the Canon camp. Currently in use is a 5D2, 6D, some L zooms and fast Sigma primes. I am not planning to give up on those. Many years back, I used to shoot film on my dad's old Contax RTS with a Zeiss 50/1.4 lens. I found it with a bit of practice really easy to nail manually the focus, even outside the micro-prism, just on the screen surface. The focus was clearly visible. Unfortunately this "easy" manual focusing changed completely with...
