I shall be testing my equipment next Friday using a square 90cm softbox with the strobe. my camera takes ~n seconds to write to memory card for an n-second exposure.its not the memory card's issue because I tried the card on my friend's 5D Mark III which writes a lot faster. The card is x1066 speed, 32GB.anyone know if this is normal for the 5D2?

Based on this link http://wiki.pocketwizard.com/?title=Understanding_HyperSync_and_High_Speed_Sync#Reduced_Clipping That said : Cameras with larger and slower shutters can produce more noticeable gradation. Cameras with faster moving shutters and smaller sensors can improve HyperSync success by minimizing gradation. Faster or slower moving shutters are not the same as your camera's shutter speed setting. I was still curious about Hypersync, then i was found this article that "faster and...

Hi Folks, I've been debating moving from my current 5D Mkii to the a7r ii. One concern I have is the potential need for computer upgrade. I'm currently using a 5 yr old iMac and it's fine for what I'm doing (I'm sure it's not as fast as current tech, but ... ). Will the larger files from the a7rii make a difference? Thinking about it I'm guessing it may not be any different from working with any large file, still or video. But it would be great to hear from anyone who feared this change and...

Can it be determined yet if there are differences in the sensor construction, other than the obvious size difference? Any differences in image output between the two cameras, other than a difference in resolution? Not intended as "troll bait" as there are differences between seemingly similar spec Canon sensors in the 5DII and 1DsIII, and the files handle differently. --Moments in Time, a work in progress.... https://www.flickr.com/gp/142423236@N08/965cs3

I have just received my new 5D Mark IV. I have barely had time to take it out of the box, let alone "mess" around with it. Hopefully this weekend that will change. All that being said, does any have any recommendations / experience with learning videos such as these (not recommending this, they were the result of a little looking around and research): https://www.creativelive.com/courses/canon-eos-5d-mark-iv-fast-start-john-greengo https://kelbyone.com/course/lbecker_canon_5dmarkiv/ I bought...

I ordered today the 5d Mark IV. I am coming from 5d Mark II and while my Mark II takes good pics I am looking forward to the new experience. To that end I am now reading about the new lenses, really versions II and III of existing lenses that I own. Some reviewers and readers have said the new versions are designed to get better resolution from the bigger sensors of the new cameras such as my 5d Mark IV and the older versions have just about reached their limits and unable to resolve as well...

I bought a 1DX Mark II at the end of December and only took pictures once with it until this past weekend when I used it to shoot a CrossFit competition.  Friday night I fully charged the battery and only got 400 pics before the battery died.  Fortunately I had my Canon 5D Mark II with me, so I shifted to that.  Saturday night I fully charged both the 1DX & 5D batteries and Sunday morning before leaving, I double checked my gear--the 1DX Mark II battery was down to only 37%, so I charged it...

Hi folks, I'm itching to update my 5D mark II and I've been checking out a7rii. One problem I noticed at the store yesterday was that the post-exposure image in the viewfinder (image review?) lagged for a moment, preventing continuous viewing in the finder. I figure there must be a way to stop this in the menu, but the sales guy at the store (who shoots with a Sony 7s) couldn't figure it out. Can you enlighten me? While I have you, my reluctance to go with the a7rii is the ergonomics. Maybe...
