Hey all, Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm looking for an off camera flash to work with my Canon 550d/Rebel t2i to give a bit of extra light in my food photography on location. I'm looking for something economical and it seems that Yongnuo 560 is quite popular. But lot of reviews say that it doesn't work with the Canon model I have. Can you please suggest an off camera flash model that works Canon Rebel t2i ? And what kind of transmitter do i need to buy ? Please list any gear that...

I am a armature enthusiast. I used to do a lot of travel photography but now with two young kids, they have become my main subjects. I have been using a Canon Rebel T2i with the 50mm 1.8 prime. I am happy with the image quality I get and love being able to melt out the background, but the auto focus and lack of tracking has become a problem now that the kids are very active. Also the high ISO performance is pretty dismal compared to modern cameras which is important since I shoot a lot...
80D Kit question I've been out of the the DSLR for quite a while and am about to pull the trigger on an 80D. I have some USM lenses, and was really wondering about the STM lenses. I"m coming from a Rebel T2i, so it's been a while. From the reviews I've seen, it seems the STM is totally worth it for shooting video but I wanted to get some feedback from the pros (you all!). My video needs are occasional (kids at school, some high school sports, etc). I'm not looking to be the next Tim...
I have seen a few stills that are corrupt when uploaded off of SD cards in my new 80D. Cards have been used without error for a few years in a T2i. When viewing on iMac Finder directly on the cards, In one, there is only a few lines, in the other, the top 1/4 of the image included is visible, but below that there is no change in the data. When looking at the same frames in the camera they look ok. Attempting to import them into Apple Photos or Aperture they fail because of error. These frames...

Hello! I have owned a Rebel T2i for a few years now and never got around to properly learning what's what, other than the trusty automatic setting on the dial.. Food styling has become my new favourite pastime, and I figured now is the best time to really sit down and get comfortable with my Rebel. I will be shooting both flatlay/overhead shots, as well as some nice macro shots- I'd say at 25-45 degrees. I would be very grateful if anyone could recommend me a versatile lens that does both as...

Hi, I noticed the following with my Sigma 35mm F1.4 A on a Canon 550D. 1. The AF image quality is identical to that MF if the subject is focused through screen. 2. The AF image quality is obviously inferior through the viewfinder. 3. The same metering mode was used and the subject was placed at the centre of the frame, the shutter speed of #2 was slower than that of #1. The two cropped images are: Screen AF Viewfinder AF The subject is about 15cm high and the lens was 550cm (5.5 meter)...

I wonder why my Canon 550D likes to stop records automatically, but I have capable SanDisk Ultra 32GB SDHC Class 10/UHS-1 (with write speed 10 Mb/s, capable to record 80 Mbps video). Meanwhile recording Full HD video doesn't need insane bandwidth! Is it uncompressed? Question, why it's happen? And how to prevent them? Should I must buy extreme-expensive SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC card or equivalent UHS-3 card?? I was really confused :\
Ahoy-hoy, I previously shot stills/video as an amateur/semi-pro on a 550D but switched to M43 (Oly E-PL5) when I stopped working, mainly for size/weight. However, while it outstrips the 550D for IQ and functionality, the Oly is too fiddly and small. Not only that, I've only got legacy Helios/Canon F glass with MF. The whole thing is a royal pain, despite the pleasing pics it produces. I'm considering returning to DSLR for the form factor but, despite using a 17-55 F2.8 USM IS and renting a...
