I got the camera in March 2019 and have been using it since as my main body for shooting sports; soccer ( league and champions league) , pro-rugby etc. I mean, wow!! AF tracking fantastic, usability excellent, menu's easy to navigate, build like a tank, feels very comfortable to the hand ( even better than the 1D MKIV ) etc. Locking and tracking subjects is excellent and high ISO performance is so good that I shoot at 6400 ISO without hesitation. I want to stay for a moment on the high ISO ...

Pros:  Great focus tracking for sports, kids action shots, etc. with my 400 f/2.8L Best variety of pro lenses, from the 11-24m to the big white teles One secret tip: Viewfinder can be swapped for an old fashioned split view finder                    (makes manual focus easier) Cons:   Very heavy

Iv been using the 1D X Mark ii for about a year now, and it's an amazingly fast and efficient camera for sports photography, with a great battery. Attended the Festival of Speed at Goodwood and it lasted well over 7000 simultaneous raw and jpeg images on a single charge with no buffer or write speed issues, it really is a great piece of kit.

I really love this camera.  A perfect blend of image quality, speed, and good ergonomics. I didn't give it full 5 stars and here are my complaints: 1. Subject Tracking across frame is behind Nikon.  Continuous focus works awesome if you pick the focus point manually but it cannot stay on target on it's own! 2. Area of focus point is too small.  It is 2017!  It should be greater than 90% percent coverage like the PDAF points on Sony. 3. Why can't you use Af-C in live view?  You can do it with ...

My brand new body has more than 2 dozen spots on the sensor, right from the factory!  No response from CPS about whether this is from a bad production run or sporadic poor construction. As is, it's unusable. Wish I'd have waited to buy...

CFast card is a misunderstanding to me. Distribution of faulty CFast cards from SanDisk, is even more misunderstanding... Implementation of better codec (see Sony, Panasonic, Cinema EOS, etc.) solves the problem of excessively high bitrate. Panasonic copes with overheating in a tiny GH4, so here should not be a problem. Another issue is worse than ineffective battery: 1300-1900 pictures on charge, is definitely not enough! Last critical note is poor cooperation with the exquisite lenses of ...

Overall I am impressed with this camera's performance, blazing fast, rather noisy but not as clanky as my 1DX. One annoying issue that still grinds me is why Canon have opted for yet another 2 different card formats, seems like Canon cannot decide on what format/s to settle on.  7DMKII uses SD & CF Formats, 1DXII is now CF & CFAST, Why??? Another gotcha is the issue that has come up in the last couple of days with CFAST 2.0 Sandisk Cards, apparently not a Canon issue nevertheless an issue for ...
