I have seen strange AF performance on 1D II & 1D III with Sigma lenses 70-200 II & 50-150 II, probably released just after the 1D III. Both are HSM, equivalent to the USM type. Both lenses on both cameras do fine in single shot AF, and even in Servo if the subject is not moving, or if I'm not waving the camera about. If the subject is moving or I am waving the camera too much, I have noticed how the AF pulls to front-focus in a burst. The first shot is in focus and then focus shifts to the...
I have a ridiculous expectation of cameras. The perfect camera for me would be as small as possible, totally waterproof, with swappable lenses, etc. etc. long story short it does not exist. You can't film surfing and snowboarding and weddings and portraits with the same camera (not well anyway). I've come to terms that underwater photography should be left to the gopros and action cams, portrait photography should be left to the DSLR with full manual controls and large sensors. So I'm not...

Hi all,, i'm still using a good-old 1dmark2 body, which doesn't have built-in external flash control function as recent models of EOS. I wonder if there's any flash controlling transmitter available for 1dmark2 body --> which enables me to ● remotely adjust the light amount, and/or ● switch the metering mode(ETTL vs Manual) , and/or ● ratio and(or) Group settings regardless the lack of built-in function in its body. I'm currently using - yn600ex-rt - Sigma 500dg...
I went out a while back to take some night photography and i noticed that my photos were all out of focus. No matter what i tried to do, they would be blurry. I went out tonight to do some testing as it is a relatively nice night out with almost no wind. I have a sturdy tripod. I do not have a shutter release cable, but i set the camera for mirror lockup and a 2 second timer to compensate for that. I tried everything that i could to get a photo in focus and i just cannot. I used...

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum so please do bare with me! I just purchased a used 1D Mark II as a backup camera for the Island Games this summer. After some research I found that the camera will accept higher capacity cards after a firmware update however I'm finding it very difficult to find what capacity is accepted etc. Does anybody know what capacity SD cards and CF cards can be used in the camera? And if so, if there are any limits on cards used e.g. not working with UDMA CF cards...
Hey I have a old Canon 1d Mark II, when I try to use autofocus, my lense just focuses from macro to infinity and back. It's way off focus, but manually works fine. I have tried the lense on my 70D and it's not the lense thats the problem. I have also cleaned the connecters to the lense. Is it broken or does anyone who know whats wrong?
Hey guys, I was wondering if a Canon 1D mark ii or mark ii N would fit all canon lenses on it (like a Canon 60d would) ? I got the impression that it has a little different monitor or that some lenses doesn't create as good photos on the 1D as on the 60D, for instance. Is this just a misinterpretation or am I right? Thank you in advance :) - Nash
