I am amateur cosplay photographer, i recommended this for beginner photographer cause its easy to operate and settings your photo, the 18-55mm F/3.5 - F/5.6 IS II lens is great to use, i not recommended this for low light, if using this in low light i suggest using external flash/camera flash.

I use it mostly for urban scenes, architecture and portraits and does everything well, very good photos in either category! The kit lens is, also very good! Shortcomings I find only in the video which "eats the battery" and is no user friendly, and no remote control! That's why I'm rating it with four stars! PDE

It performs way beyond perfection. It's even better than Nikon's entry-level DSLRs. ;-) You can check out my gallery here: Photographs Captured with Canon EOS 1200D If you're a beginner and thinking of buying a DSLR, (No matter what the YouTube reviewers are saying) Canon EOS 1200D is the one you MUST go for. It's truly Amazing! :-)
View review in forums Leave a comment on this reviewOn the one hand, it's the first camera I ever owned so I can't bring a whole lot of experience to the review. But I can at least rate how user-friendly it is to beginners. This is considered the most basic, inexpensive beginner DSLR you can buy from Canon, unless you get "last year's model" ...you can get a really good deal on a Rebel T3 for something like $300, $350 bucks. I paid $550 for this camera with the kit lens. If you already have a Rebel and were thinking "should I upgrade?" then ...
View review in forums Leave a comment on this reviewI have been into photography for a long time, recently an avid hobbyist turn part time photographer. I look for a camera that delivers what I want. This camera works great. I know it is consider a beginner, but the photos I delivered for clients is far from that. It's a matter of choice, what you feel comfortable with, and what you are looking for in a camera. I tried Nikon 3200 before buying the T5, nice camera but it wasn't what I was looking for. I've use several camera, to me, its ...

The Lcd is a good step up. For the rest the camera perform like the 1100D The focus speed is not better the frames are the same,It is save to say you get more Mpixels 6 more and a bigger screen.
View review in forums Leave a comment on this reviewMy friends at Consumer Reports led me to believe the T5 and the T5i were quite similar, except for the articulating LCD which I now believe is a real convenience at times and probably worth an extra $100. I have David Busch's book on the Rebel T5 / 1200D that tells me far more than Canon's User Manual does. It seems the T5 is a new entry level camera that does a fine job as a point-and-shoot with the option of changing lenses. While that's true, it seems the T5 has some features usually found ...
