I own several R series cameras, EOS R, R5 and R5C doing event photography and videography. So far, I have bought the RF 35 1.8, RF 50 1.8, RF 50 1.2, RF 24-105 f4 and RF 24-70 2.8. I would like to hear your opinion on reliability and usability for video work. My observation / problem: RF 35 1.8 (usually shot at f2.2) I like it a lot, when it focusses, but sometimes it will not, it gets stuck or focusses very very slow, even manual override won’t solve the issue, only a restart of the camera....

Hi, I recently purchased a Canon RP along with a 35mm f1.8. I'm running into an odd quirk and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. In a nutshell, when my camera is in servo af mode, I focus and lock on something somewhat close (lens extended out), then turn off the camera. The lens does not fully retract (I have lens retract on power off enabled). Instead, it kind of slowly moves back partially. The lens does retract as expected when shooting in one shot af. I recently dipped my toes into more serious digital photography, and picked up: EOS RP RF 24-240 F4-6.3 IS USM RF 35 F1.8 IS STM MACRO I'm using the 24-240 as a jack-of-all-trades lens, for family pictures when we're out hiking, or candids of the kids out playing, pictures of my wife baking, or taking as a one-lens solution on road trips and vacations.
