For a decade I have been shooting local HS football with a 40D (yes, long in tooth!) + 70-200 IS L USM lens; full manual, usually at ISO 400-800, with an aperture of between 3.5-4.0, full manual, WITH flash (580EX II, setting the flash output manually on the flash to where I am anticipating the play to go). This has worked well for me over the years. But now I am looking to make the move to a newer camera. I have just about settled on the 5DmIV (though my pocket is still fussing!). I...

Hey, recently I bought canon eos 70d. I wanted to use the body with my old lens canon EF 70-200mm 2.8 L IS USM and i did my research if it would work. Every site said it would work. But when I connect body with the lens, the body says error 1 and turns to manual focus. I cleaned the contacts and it still doesnt work.

I have the chance to buy a 70-200mm f/2.8 IS at a very very steep discount because the front element has a small chip, about the size of a half grain of rice. This lens is way out of my budget ordinarily (I'm just an amateur with gear envy), so should I just go for this? Or will every shot come out obviously messed up? Anyone have sample shots to show?

Hi, I need help in deciding on either to buy lens or upgrade body... I currently use Canon 80D and i got a chance to use it the Canon 70-200 f2.8. It is fantastic for fashion and  portraits, unfortunately i had to return it back to the owner after a year with it. Now i'm torn in between upgrading my body to 6D mark ii or i get the 70-200 f2.8.. Please advice i'm fairly on a learning process in photography.

I am using 5D2 for almost 4 years with shutter count of 13190. A week ago I got Error 30. (error code 30: "Turn the power switch to <OFF> and <ON> again or re-install the battery"). I surfed the internet and followed the following instructions: 1st: Remove batteries(both, main and clock battery) and card for quite a time. 2nd Update the firmware: I was already on the latest firmware. However, I updated it again. Issue was solved right away. I took quite a few pictures. single shoots, long...

I've got some older L glass - 24-105L and 100-400L, both Mk 1, which belonged to my late father.  They don't get used too hard and seem to be working fine for now, though I might get the 24-105 serviced soon. There's an auction coming up in the UK with a couple of bits of older Canon kit for sale - one lot is a 7D bundled up with an 85 f1.8 and a 430 EX, whilst the other lot is a 70-200L f2.8 IS Mk I. I called up a Canon Service Centre to check the price of servicing this kit if I bought it,...
