I have a broken 50mm f/1.8II lens from Canon that I want to use to make a DIY tilt-shift for my m4/3 camera. The front element is completely loose from the rest of the lens. 50mm lens with front part removed. The question is this: can I secure the lens original mount to the camera and make the tilt-shift by moving ONLY THE LENS FRONT ELEMENT? Cand I do the tilt-shift moving only the front part of do I have to fix it first? Or first I have to attach and aligne both front and rear elements...

I have the Rebel SL1 currently with hopes to upgrade soon. Currently the lens that I own are the Canon EF 50mm 1.8 II, EF 75-300mm 4-5.6 III, EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5, and EF-S 18-55mm 3.5-5.6. Typically, I've taken portraits on the EF-S lens, but love the 50mm as well. I'm curious on your favorite portrait lenses/the ones you would love to have and think are the best. Thanks in advance!
I found a very cheap deal which was posted by a local guy. He is selling these 3 lenses for 15000LKR (around 100USD) which he is using for 3-4 years. What I want to know is do these lenses worth buying since it looks like they have lot of scratch marks and tiny fungus inside? lenses are canon 18-55 IS kit lens (Auto focus not working) canon 50mm 1.8 EF yongnuo 35mm f2.0 What do you think? Please inspect above pictures and let me know if you can find fungus or serious scratch marks in...
I have a "0.43x Wide Angle (with Macro) High Definition Lens". For using this as a Macro lens, I need to remove the Wide angle portion and use only the Macro portion of the lens. I am trying to buy a "58mm Lens Filter Kit for Canon EOS EF", so that I can attach this to the Macro portion. Now, the Macro part has a thread size of ɸ58 mm on one end, where you attach the lens to your Camera Lens. Since I detached the Wide Angle Portion of the Lens, I do not know the thread size of the other end...

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read my question. I am going to backpack in Japan this summer. Apart from usual travel photos, I would like to focus on taking pictures of festivals that take place after sunset. It includes hanging lanterns, lanterns on the ground, floating on water surface, people placing candles along paths or in temples, illuminated shrines or trees and so on. All I have right now is Canon 1000D with Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens and Canon kit lens 18-55. I don't have a...

Hello! New to the forum. I finally replaced my 5D II with a 6D and I love it. Actually rebuilding my kit after having to wholesale back in 2010 or so. Bought the 50mm. Love it. 70-200 f4 IS coming soon. So on to my issue. I run most always in aperture priority. I really like to shoot wide open (1.8-2.8) when I'm out walking around. I just really like the effects of the 50mm. The problem is, I start bouncing off the max shutter speed at 1/4000 and my images are too hot. Usually leave the ISO...
I dropped my lens and had to fix the mounting element myself so I could mount the lens on my camera. I did a newspaper on the wall test like a person on another thread suggested. Judging by this image, is my lens damaged? Should I send it in for service? (I use a Canon EOS 600D btw.)

Hey there guys, I plan on doing a model shoot later this week. It would involve shooting photos and videos. I don’t know if there’s a term for that. This video is the best example.https://vimeo.com/123878124 I’m from India, As far as I know none of the photographers or filmmakers in my country try to shot something like this. I own a Canon 80D, Would it be possible to shoot something like that using Canon 85mm F/1.8 and 50mm F/1.8. I will be using Flycam HD-5000 to stabilize the shots. I...
