Hello everyone, Again, apologies if my question is dumb... I'm wanting to buy myself a 35mm. Last year I tried out a 35mm 1.4 L mk i. I liked it a lot....I took a lot of my favourite photos I've managed so far with it. But at the time, I was also trying out a 24-70 f2.8 mk ii, and because of various reasons (versatility/sharpness/how much money I had to spend at the time...) bought the 24-70 and didn't buy the 35 1.4. But I still can't get rid of the notion that I need to get a...

I'm getting focus gears made for a Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L (original Mark I) but I won't receive the lens until just before a shoot. If anyone has access to one, could you please measure the diameter of the focus ring/grip with a vernier caliper (or similar)? Many thanks

I'm taking a trip with a group of photographers over to Death Valley next Friday for the weekend. I rarely get the chance to explore photography in an area like this, so I'm very keen on trying out different types of photography for the trip. With that said, I'm bringing my Canon Rebel Xti with the kit lens and the new 50mm f/1.8 lens, along with a tripod. However, I know that more equipment will be needed. Thus, are there any advice or suggestions on lenses and equipment I should bring with...

I have a Canon Mark III and all of a sudden my shutter speed is really low in all lighting conditions so I'm having to bump up the ISO ridiculously high. I'm not sure if I touched something on accident, but it's not right. Outside during the day I'm having to use a really high ISO to get the shutter speed right to avoid blur. Can someone please tell me how to fix this ASAP? Thank you!

Has anyone experienced any problems with focusing to inifinity?I use the Commlite adapter for Canon lenses on the A7s, and since recently it won't allow the camera to focus at infinity, turning the focus ring all the way just never reaches infinity.Anyone with similar problem and any solutions? Have you had similar problem with other adapters like the Novoflex, Fotodiox or the Metabones adapter?I tried cleaning the connecting pins, mounting and dismounting the adapter, different lenses.Tested...

Dear Friends, I am curious if anyone has any experience with a 35 mm 1.4 L on a 70 D frame?  I currently have the 50 mm 1.8, which I love as a combo, and a 10-22mm for more outdoor shots, however it's not so sharp and almost too wide angle.  I love the bokeh, sharpness, and slight wide angle component that I have seen on peoples examples on FF but not sure how it would be on a crop like the 70D.  Any thoughts are sincerely appreciated!   Cheers

So I've had a massive update. Got myself: Canon Mark iii Canon EF 135mm f2.0 Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 I'm looking for a 50/85mm. I like to compose shots not but not in a studio – I tend to rely on natural light and relatively wide. Amazing Boekh isn't a must have, i'd take sharpness over anything. It's a toss up between: Canon 50mm f1.2 Canon 50mm f.14 Canon 35mm f1.4 Price isn't an issue. In the interest of my sanity please keep your replies as simple as possible – maybe just choose one and...

I'm about to go off to a foreign land to film a documentary mainly consisting of talking heads and b-roll.
