I recently bought a couple of used EOS bodies, 5D and 5D Mk-II, and among the first lenses I added was one of these, from an eBay seller who had a fairly large quantity of this model available, all at bargain prices. Mine is very good condition, relatively flimsy front focusing flange, but it focuses fast in good light and is amazingly sharp except at the extreme edges. Bought S/H off ebay before reading single unhelpful review, have a 60D and a selection of Ef & Ef-S lens. Wanted a cheap lens to use on EOS 3, my Ef lenses are long L usm (not cheap). Yes construction is cheap (borders on shoddy) manual focus tricky, but mounted on APS-C body compares well in real world with Ef & Ef-S lenses cost many hundreds. I have (a variant of) this lens (the rubber grip has small rectangles, not lines), and the thing i like most is that it becomes a super macro lens by removing the first element!
