Canon EF 28-135mm F3.5-5.6 IS USM User Reviews

Zoom lens | Canon EF | 2562A002

OK budget lens for full frame, don't bother on crop. At 28mm it gives FOV of 45mm on crop. Thats just not wide enough. it has a very old IS. Image quality is not the best, but good enough as long as you won't be comparing it to lenses like 24-70 2.8. Build quality is OK, barrel will creep, but that is to be expected of most cheap lenses.

This is the lens I bought with my EOS3 in the late 90's, yes, during the film age. In 2006 I bought my first DSLR, 30D, and this lens was pretty much packed away in one of my gear bags as it is not quite suitable with a half frame body. My lens inventory is built by both EF lens from the good old days and a couple EF-S lens for the APS-C frame 30D. Recently I could not resist the temptation to acquire a full frame DSLR at an affordable price and bought the 6D. With the full frame body, the ...

I am using this lens as my walk around lens on a crop sensor camera (Canon 60D)... So far so good with this lens, image quality is Okay, not as Sharp as I expected (I need to do some post production on each photo), Vignetting is not noticeable (May be because of the crop), also colour fringing is not an issue (also may be the same reason) but if I look carefully at the edges I notice a hint of fringing happening... On a crop sensor - especially that I love taking photos of landscapes - this ...

I got this lens as part of kit. I don't use it much anymore, just not sharp enough ultimately and I have other higher end lenses that do a much better job. But, for many, this lens will do a good job. It has great range on an APS-C camera body and when combined with a wide zoom (like the very good 10-22) it makes a good two lens system for many young or casual users. It's size is good and it's IS is a nice benefit for many at an affordable price. The build level is about what you'd expect in ...

This lens is not bad at all if you just bought yourself a 7D. It gives you sharp images and IS is a big help in any situation. The aperture range is also pretty decent and the exposure comes out nice. One thing though, lens creep galore. Hold it facing down and it pops out to 120mm. The build quality is good, but the durability lens. In conclusion, this lens is a good starter for anyone who wants to upgrade after a few months of use.

If i could, i would rank this from a 3-4 so i'll leave it at 3.5 I bought this lens for its decent zoom range.. mainly used for walking around on sunny, good day light days. I believe it is best used on bright/daylight occasions. If in lowlight areas, flash is a must. the reason why would rank it at 3 at times is because the Image quality you get from this lens is OK, at best, it feels like it produces very GOOD point and shoot quality pictures at times..not tack sharp but decently sharp ...
